A Costa Mesa Favorite - Edit
Check this out, I booked a flight from DC to LAX and drove an hour south to Costa Mesa to meet my wife for dinner at her favorite place in the world, Seabirds Kitchen. It was highly worth it, and I took a red eye after the scrumptious meal. Fellows, sometimes our ladies just need us to show them how much we do care and love them!

Jackfruit tacos, Broccolini, Farro salad, grilled cheese sandwiches and a cadre of bowls such as the Zippy Tofu Bowl make this place a top choice every time. Prices are moderate and portions are large. The BBQ Jack Sliders are the bomb for example. Soups, salads, tacos, empanadas, and enchiladas will only add to the confusion, but all are delicious. Enjoy!

I highly recommend this restaurant. In fact, we visited from Colorado, and we went to this restaurant twice in three days. The service was friendly, and the food was filling and very yummy. The only downside is the parking lot. There are a lot of restaurants in the same area with a small parking lot. So if you can, avoid a weekend night.

I was visiting Orange County for a birding trip and wanted to try some of the vegan restaurants in the area. This was my favorite of the trip! My cocktail and the jackfruit nachos were DELICIOUS. I also got a cookie and scone to go, and they were incredible as well. I will be thinking about this place for a long time. Wish I had one up in Northern California! Keep it up😄

I love a place that delivers what you think it should give you. Cool casual vibe, alcohol on the menu which is nice. Everything looked good. I wanted to order one of everything. But I had to settle on the mac & cheese 2.0, and two grilled tacos with a chorizo taste. I think it was jackfruit. Love the fermented cabbage on top. Really big portion taco which is how it should be. Food came out quickly but made with care and perfection. Sit outside or inside depending on the weather. If you like Cafe Gratitude you will love this place!

We had a tremendous meal here with friends on Labor Day Monday. For 4 of us - we had 3 appetizers , and a lunch entree each. We had the Mac N Cheese, Chips and Salsa, and Brussels sprouts.

Read moreEverything was great, but the poke bowl really stood out. Even though it looked the least remarkable, it was so fully of flavor, and I enjoyed the vegan salmon (made of watermelon).
The mac and cheese had a nice creamy consistency, but it didn’t really have much of a “cheesy” taste. The nachos were delicious, and the cheese sauce they used tasted great. I thought the nachos sauce would be a better option for the mac and cheese. Wish there was a little more sauce though since it was pretty dry.
Overall a great experience. Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

Literally the best vegan food in Southern California. We drive over an hour to eat here at least three times a week. BBQ burger is insane. Bibimbap bowl is soooo good. Locals bowl is awesome. I’ve never had anything I didn’t love.

Read moreThis is a comfortable place and a neat little area called LAB, an open error, market area with stores and restaurants. It’s interesting and worth a visit. The menu here is small but mighty. I didn’t notice any processed fake meats or cheeses on the menu, which is a plus for me. I ended up getting the Caesar salad and the local bowl. The waiter recommended that I topped the bowl with tofu, but I opted not to add anything to it. It’s up to personal taste, but I felt like the Caesar salad had a bit too much dressing on it. It was very good, but just a little more dressing than I would like. The bowl was great, but I could’ve done without the tortilla strips. 
Service was great. Everybody was friendly and engaging.

I got: PURPLE TAQUITOS (purple potatoes, chipotle sour cream, fermented curtido, almond cotija, cilantro) and the BREAKFAST BURRITO
(tofu scramble, walnut chorizo, tater tots, sauteed peppers & onions, american cheese, hot sauce) added avocado. They did not skimp on the avocado either. The walnut chorizo was so flavorful and the almond cotija was yummy!
Wife: BEER BATTERED AVO TACO
(fried avocado, Seabirds sauce, cabbage, red onion, lime (nf)) and CHIPOTLE FLORENTINE
(polenta cakes topped with organic spinach, avo mash, eggy tofu rounds, smokey chipotle hollandaise and green onion, served with house salad (GF)). The tacos were flavorful well seasoned avocado and was not mushy. The Florentine has so much flavor and everything just worked.

Went to Seabirds for breakfast. Had the wet breakfast burrito and the waffle. Also had their biscuits and tacos. Loved all the dishes. They allow dogs in the patio, so they enjoyed a lot as well. The restaurant is so well decorated. Our server was very nice as well, he explained everything very well.

We have eaten here many times as well as the Long Beach location, slightly different menus but mostly the same. The grilled cheese is amazing, we have to get when we come. The purple taquitos are also yummy. I have had the mushroom taco and the fried avocado taco, both delicious. My favorite is the warm cauliflower salad, it’s crunchy and a little spicy and tangy. The butternut squash enchiladas also very good. The stuffed shells are delicious, hard to believe they’re vegan because so creamy. The beets me burger is good, kids like it.

Only complaint was that we started with one server and then another server took over. They kinda of forgot about us at the end due to their own confusion.
