Cozy, cute, traditional - Edit
There are a lot of clearly labelled options on the Scorvergi vegan menu. You can have it simple, without any fillings, or with different sweet or savoury items.
Read moreIn addition, some of the cold bakery items on display are also vegan (I got a potato cake thingy). Although here there were not specific vegan/veggie labels, these items are clearly labelled with ingredients and allergens, all I needed to do was translate them.
A nice place for breakfast or lunch.
Pros: Reasonably priced, Cosy cafe environment, Lots of options

Mica Chew, I Choose You! - Edit
A moment of self-congratulation to begin with. While there were twelve different listed vegan offerings (and even more if you consider the combinations of conserves), I managed to restrain myself to purchasing ONLY five. Very mature of me, if I do say so myself.
Read moreAfter taking my (reasonably adequate) bag of goodies on a city-wide tour trying to find a suitable spot to consume them, I finally settled on a bench bang opposite a rather fine-looking restaurant so that the patrons could watch the ensuing carnage unfold as I tore through the contents. How kind of me.
I started where I thought I ought to with the ‘Simple’. Unadorned by any additional frivolity, this would give me a clear insight into what lay ahead. Honestly? I was slightly disheartened. Yes, it was all the good, greasy, doughy things it should be, but it wasn’t spectacular. The notion that I might have over-ordered began to creep in to my mind.
But duty called, and I soldiered on. Next up, by logical progression, was the sugared variety. This, thankfully, is where the penny dropped. Suddenly it all made sense - these bakes are vehicles. Vessels. Conduits of flavour. Even with just a sweet dusting, it was transformed from adequate to amazing.
After the first carefully weighted selections, and with faith restored, now it was potluck. Step forth the peanut butter and sour cherry. While I had initially doubted the combination, it proved to be magnificent. I had feared peanut butter would be too cloying but the jam cut through it perfectly and the ratios were ideal.
Next up: the plum. Let me tell you, when they say they’re putting plum jam in it, they mean it. Perhaps a bit sour for my palate (I’m not even sure I like plums), but it was enjoyable nonetheless.
Inadvertently, I managed to save the best for last, the apricot jam with walnuts. This took everything that was good about the PB and took it to another level.
After a shaky start, I am wholeheartedly a convert of the tasty, traditional treats. At such little cost, they more than warrant at least a sampling. Maybe five.

The peanut butter and cherry jam one was one of my fave things I ate this trip! They have about 15 vegan options. I also tried the potato salad one (potatoes, peppers, olives etc) which was tasty too.

There are 5-6 vegan options of the traditional fried flatbread. We had the option with potato salad. Something special! Or you can choose for example cinnamon or peanut butter with jam😄

Being vegan in Bucharest is alright if it’s lunch or dinner time. However, finding breakfast was HARD! Places that were supposed to serve anything vegan were either closed or didn’t serve vegan anymore. But Scovergi was delicious, a full vegan menu and very friendly staff!

Fried dough that is served with sweet or savoury toppings. The cabbage one I can only recommend, but other options are great, too. Usually you order to take out, but you can sit outside as well - not sure if there is space inside. Drinks are also offered.
