I have been a member for 5 years. SFVS always has events (dinner - lunch) year round to get like minded vegans together. And yearly the World Vegan Fest. BTW, you get discounts at restaurants. Unfortunately we always forget to use the discount card for discounts🤦🏼♂️
This year’s festival was fabulous! Such a variety of organizations, vendors, and AMAZING plant-based food! The speakers were terrific! Can’t wait for next year!
This org is run by volunteers. They do a lot with a little. Full of hope, kindness, and can-do attitude. They host several meetups in the San Francisco Bay Area, from hiking, potlucks, movie nights, animal sanctuary visits, date nights for singles, and so much more. There's something for everyone. Plus if you're a member, you get discounts at local restaurants.
I have been a member of SFVS for many years. It is a great resource for vegans in the Bay Area. Meeting fellow vegans, finding vegan business to support, attending amazing events (including World Vegan Fest) to name a few.
I've volunteered many times for World Vegan Fest and the SF Veg Society members are awesome. They always organize a smooth event with interesting speakers and great vendors. With membership, you get discounts at many places all over the city. I would highly recommend checking them out!
I love San Francisco Veg Society, they hold great community events with vegan food vendors and information about veganism. They also sell t shirts at their information booth, and you can pay a $25 donation to be a member of SFVS for a year which will get you perks like free shakes at Next Level Burger, 10% off at Beach'n SF, as well as entry to certain events. You can also volunteer with them!
Bummer I’ll be missing out the upcoming SF Earth Day Festival (April 22, 2023 • 11AM-6PM), but I hope to attend a future event!
They usually post upcoming events on Eventbrite - so make sure to keep up to date on all their efforts to promote a plant-based and sustainable way of living!
If you do attend please let us know how it was! We’d love to know - and be inspired by all those advocating for kindness of ALL Earthlings and helping to protect our Earth Mother!
Pros: Promotes Plant-Based and Sustainable Living, Organizes and Produces Free Events for the Public, Non-Profit | Members Get Discounts at Vegan Spots
I went to the SFVS yearly world veg fest in 2017, and it was great! They might need to look into getting a bigger space soon, because it was packed and this movement is quickly growing. I know they also do outreach at other San Francisco events, like pride.

They plan many events each year, to engage the local community. It is great to get out there and meet other local veg friendly people
