Best beans in a pot with assorted pickles

My favourite lobio in town. Not because the bean stew is necessarily the best, but the assorted pickles that come with have hands down the biggest variety: from jonjoli (buds of the endemic Caucasian bladdernut) to kimchi (haven’t had that with lobio anywhere else). I also recommend the tomato salad with jonjoli and Kakhetian sunflower seed oil. From the starters, beets in tkemali (cherry plum sauce) and Ekala (a paste of greens and walnuts) are vegan too. Or try their lobiani (pastry with bean filling), which is so big you’ll have to share… but even simple house bread is tasty here! If you’re not into that, come by just to have a glass of wine or their house chacha and enjoy the interior, which is a museum of Soviet Georgian art and memorabilia.

Good but not amazing

I was hoping for more veg options for a restaurant listed here. It was probably 90% meat based. The vegetarian was good (Lobio beans, imeruli Khatchapuri), but I wouldn’t say best Georgian in the city. That’s a stretch. I probably would not have come had the reviews not been so glowing.

Best georgian food Tbilisi

Quite a few vegan options. We had the beetroot tkemali, mushroom in kindzmari, lobio and lobiano and all was super delicious and fresh. Highly recommend when in Tbilisi

Best Georgian Food

They serve my favorite lobio! And all the veggie meals are delicious and super healthy!

Good food
