We had a great experience at Roots & Rolls: the decoration is beautiful and the food was excellent (special mention for the bao buns!) from the starters to the dessert and cocktails (which are very original and surprising - in a very good way).

Incredible vegan sushi - Edit
I haven't tried much vegan sushi as it's a more niche part of vegan cuisine, but this is by far the best vegan sushi I have tried. There was no faux fish in what I tried but it was still incredibly impressive. The tasting platter was insanely good, every sushi type being uniquely its own taste. The bao buns were good as well. And the tempeh-tation was very impressive when I haven't liked tempeh dishes in the past.

Relatively fancy restaurant with a large choice of snacks, starters, salads, mains and desserts. The staff is extremely efficient. The food is good (the best so far for us in Barcelona) and very well presented. We took kimchi, cauliflower popcorn, breaded « chicken » and ramen. This restaurant is large and employs a large quantity of people. It is the opposite of the typical small, independent restaurant owned by a passionate vegan. But I’m glad! More vegan food served😄

We loved this place so much that we went both nights that we were in Barcelona… honestly the freshest, most interesting vegan Asian food I think I’ve ever had. The kale chips, the fabulous Saigon rolls, slurpy savoury miso ramen … and then the absolutely delicious and unique sushi. I honestly can’t recommend it highly enough! Am gutted that it’s not closer to me, but what an amazing reason to go back to beautiful Barcelona!

I was able to taste the saigón roll: rice paper, marinated red cabbage, daikon and carrot, mango, cucumber, lettuce with nuts, mint, peanut sauce and ponzu
And for dessert, a choc avo brownie: chocolate and avocado brownie with coconut ice cream from DelaCrem
It was very refined and the place very soothing!

Yesterday we had dinner at Roots & Rolls. The restaurant is very stylishly furnished and everything conveys a feeling of fine dining. There was a very relaxed atmosphere, it wasn't loud and we felt very comfortable.
Read moreEverything that follows is high level grumbling and should not deter anyone from eating in this great restaurant. But perhaps it will encourage the staff to be a little more precise.
Unfortunately, the restaurant doesn't quite live up to these expectations. I'm not saying that we ate badly. No way, there is still room for improvement.
The delicious cauliflower popcorn lacked crunchiness, as did the breadcrumbs on the vegan karaage. However, this tasted almost original. The puri pani was filled with a delicious and very fluffy cream, but again lacked a certain crunch to round it off.
The Pad Thai was simply delicious and we would order it again in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, the delicious salad came last and the sauce served a part had an unpleasant cheesy flavour. We stuck to the fresh vegetables. I will also be using kale in my salads in future.
The desserts, cheesecake and deconstructed lemon cake, were a dream. The deconstructed lemon cake in particular was to die for.
