Hands down the best food in Laos! - Edit
I can unequivocally say this was the best restaurant we tried during our trip to Laos. Everything we ordered was incredible, and the range and variety of dishes is genuinely tempting.

The vegan chicken and noodles were another standout, with a fantastic contrast between the crisp “chicken” and the warm, juicy noodles.
The wonton soup was clean, delicate, and comforting, with subtle flavors that somehow touched the soul. The fried duck with peanut sauce was rich, juicy, and slightly heavy, but adding the snow peas provided exactly the texture and crunch it needed. The snow peas themselves were thin, tender, and cooked to perfection. The curry puffs made for a fun appetizer, and the fried chicken with French fries was a hearty, satisfying cutlet that definitely filled us up.
The restaurant itself is charming, with lovely decor and a wonderfully peaceful setting on a quiet, beautiful street surrounded by lush vegetation. It feels like a place where you can slow down and enjoy the experience as much as the food.
The service was also superb—genuinely friendly, attentive, and welcoming, with excellent English that made communication completely effortless.
Everything was prepared with great care and presented beautifully. The portions were substantial, and you can really taste the time, skill, and love the chef puts into the food.
We’ve eaten at many restaurants throughout Laos, and this was easily the best by far. We will absolutely be returning.
The menu and signage lists this restaurant as both vegan and vegetarian, but as far as I could tell, it appears to be all vegan and the only fully vegan restaurant in Luang Prabang listed on happy cow. There are currently three identical listings for the restaurant on HappyCow, so I’m posting this review on all three to make sure it reaches the right place.
If you’re coming to Laos, you absolutely must visit. This is some of the best food we’ve had on the trip.

Reunion, Luang Prabang; Beware - Edit
1) TL:DR. Not all-vegan despite management claims.

“Our restaurant is 100% vegan”
“No animal ingredient”
A badge on the same page states:
“Vegan 100%”
On the opposite page under ‘Cocoa’ is ‘fress milk’. I asked the bossguy, “What is fress milk is?” He replied that it is cow milk.
I then pointed at the claim, “Our restaurant is 100% vegan”. He then replied that they no longer have ‘fress’ milk. He then changes his tune, and stated that only their food is vegan. I realise anyone can make an honest mistake. His claims though seem at best questionable, given the wording in the claims above don’t specify that only their food is vegan. Further, I then pointed out to him that slightly above the Cocoa section on the menu, they offer honey with Americano coffee. I pointed & asked, ‘Where does honey come from?”. He replied, “Bees”.
Also, on 7 May below, are 2 separate 5 star reviews. The 1st one currently starts with the following in seeking to creating the impression of impartiality:
“Just discovered a brand-new vegetarian restaurant in Luang Prabang! They have...”
Bit of a blunder by the reviewer, currently using a profile pic that is a Reunion Cafe logo?
The 2nd of those 5 star reviews is by RULPB; ReUnion Luang PraBang?
Decide for yourself if those are review rigging / marketing messages masquerading as independent, impartial ratings.
All the above added together gives me trust concerns with Reunion Cafe management. It isn't nice feeling misled.
2) TL:DR Noise Pollution
if looking for somewhere peaceful, Reunion Cafe is the wrong venue.
I checked out the nearby Cat Cafe yesterday. Cat Cafe have a notice on each table, banning customers from speaker calls & video watching without headphones (see pic on the Cat Cafe listing). Reunion Cafe doesn’t seem to have embraced the value of peace & quiet. 2 kids were in the restaurant each with noise thundering out of their phones. That the person supervising them subsequently played streaming music on loudspeaker on their phone, illustrates the example the kids were following. Then to round it off, Reunion Cafe started playing music thumping through the venue sound system.
HappyCow won’t let me to rate Reunion Cafe lower than 2. Given a choice, I’d rate Reunion Cafe at zero. Hopefully Reunion management remove cow milk, honey & anything else to make their restaurant genuinely "100% vegan" with "no animal ingredient".
