A Vegan Option in Botafogo - Edit
It used to be better (before the pandemic it was excellent). I also thought the food was better, although it's still very good. Today it seems to me that the restaurant has been abandoned, but that may have been my impression the last few times. It's still a vegan and organic option in Botafogo. Good location, relatively close to the metro.

Gostoso, mas cheio e devagar. - Edit
Lugar agradável, comida gostosa. O serviço é meio lento e confuso pra explicar como funciona o cardápio. Enche muito e o local é pequeno, então tem que esperar ter lugar, ou pelo menos ter que dividir mesa com outras pessoas. Não é pra ir se estiver com pressa ou horário delimitado pra almoçar.

Restaurante vegano em Botafogo - Edit
O restaurante serve refeições especias diárias e também possui um meno fixo, onde pode-se escolher a partir de duas opções. Provei o bobó de palmito (prato do dia) e estava muito bom.

This used to be a nice restaurant, with lots of options. Now it's a bit abandoned and there are not too many dishes. Plus, they are not as good anymore, the flavors disappeared. The only thing I still enjoy (only available on fridays) is the feijoada. The (huge) downside: the service is terrible and disorganized and the place itself is awful. Dirty and dark.

O cardápio vegano teoricamente seria o atrativo, porém o processo de decadência está correndo solto há anos... Depois de entrar nesse ambiente insalubre e deprimente, até a própria comida já fica com gosto suspeito. Ou seja, nessa situação atual de negligência, nem a comida vale mais a pena.

We loved this amazing place! Unfortunately, buffet is only on Saturdays. Not only is it huge (and à discretion) but every single item has its own, really tasty flavor. We came here many times from all over Rio since we found it the best place to eat.

There was only 1 waiter attending (approximately 20 people), the reason I believe the menu (an A4 sheet food listing not including drinks and deserts) is thrown at the table, the drinks and desert menu was provided only after requested and it was a small and filthy plastic sheet; the waiter has no time nor good will for any questions, I had to call him several times to place an order only to be told then I was to write it down and a piece of paper and pen was threw in front of me and my nephew; when I called the waiter and told him I wanted an orange juice, he replied ´yes we have it´ whilst he was running behind my chair, lacking any sense on how to serve clients, education or training; the juice was never delivered to our table (and I noticed the client seating behind us had the same issue). Dishes from previous clients piled up on the tables. I observed other clients trying to call the waiter and a couple of people leaving before ordering. I’m sad and ashamed to have discovered such vegan place, for they exploit their employee to the maximum and send a clear message they just don’t care for their workers and clients.
Read moreThe only reason I´m giving 2 stars is for the food: there are a good range of options, the portion is large, it’s very healthy and the price is fair, thou the salad comes undressed, no seasoning was available at our table and the GERMINATED salad I order only came with lettuce and seeds on top of it (not germinated at all).
I am shocked this place has been well rated before and I would never recommend it or go back.

I would say Refeitorio Organico is the best vegan restaurant in Rio if you are looking for a buffet that mixes good raw food with Brazilian plates like moqueca, vegan fish, tutu, bobo de shitake, and so on.

Read moreThey take the dishes away and don’t wipe the tables. Tables and placemats were filthy, the menu was so dirty I didn’t even want to hold it, the bathroom was also dirty and if you peak at the kitchen you will want to leave.
The food was average, the salad comes undressed and they have to rotate their only bottle of olive oil between all tables.
Service is terrible. They threw the menu at the table and weren’t available for any questions. In order to place our order we had to go to the kitchen window, as no servers came back.
I am shocked that this place is even open given the poor sanitary conditions.
Many of the previous reviews describe the place as ‘classic’, but I can only assume that this means old and worn out.

For the fist time in my life I encounter a restaurant, open, serving dishes and making renovations, construction work inside the kitchen at the same time they serve dishes. We can see the kitchen and hear the loud banging noises all over the restaurant. The service was horrible, rude employees, most of them didn't wear a mask. Food was average and they didn't even bother to prepare the salad, all of the leaves where full pieces and with the stamps. No soap on the toilet to wash your hands.

Restaurante vegetariano tradicional em Botafogo. Totalmente vegano. A comida é uma delícia, sendo oferecida em duas modalidades: bufê e a la carte, montando seu prato com até 5 porções diferentes. Os sucos são feitos na casa e também são uma delícia. A atmosfera do restaurante é encantadora.

Such an incredible choice of different dishes including: sushi, noodles, potatoes, tofu, hummus, stews, lasagne like dish. An amazing amount of freshly cooked different flavours and options for an amazing price. Not measured in weight either so can fully indulge in the buffet.

não conseguimos usar o amplo salão no primeiro andar porque um senhor que atendia afirmou não estar mais aberto, mesmo que o restaurante ainda estivesse em horário de atendimento. nos apertamos no andar de cima que já não tinha quase lugar pra sentar. no restaurante também tem muitos pratos com referência a carne, que particularmente não gostamos, por exemplo: fígado e salsicha vegana.tambem não tinha ninguém pra atender e nos explicar como o restaurante funciona. na saida, ainda nos deparamos com uma moto estacionada em frente ao caixa!

I first went there because of good reviews I read on Happy Cow, but when at the restaurant I was surprised by not that many interesting options, pricy food when taking in consideration its quality and a bad lightned ambient (looking dirty-ish, even). When paying, the cook and the cashier were having a heated argument, screaming at each other. It wasn’t a pleasant experience and I would not recommend.
