Bland, overpriced - Edit
I got the volcano bowl and it didn’t come with all the ingredients and it was bland, it got better after I added a lot of spicy sauce to it. The bar was so loud and impossible to talk to others.

Niceee - Edit
Guac and chips ratio had a very healthy amount of guac and great flavor. I didn’t mess with the specific vegan options but got a bean and rice burrito with grilled mushroom added and it was very tasty. Nice portions too. The Salas that comes with the burrito is super tasty too.

Great spot with lots of vegan options - Edit
Great spot on the beach in the center of town. Was always open when many of the other places were closed. Went there twice for dinner. The peanut butter smoothie was amazing. Also had the mushroom tacos and the curry bowl. Both were tasty and filling.

Nice place with a view of the sea - Edit
I had the veggie burrito, which I really liked. The curry sauce tested very nice and the burrito was very filling.
Read moreGood choice of drinks as well. The only downside was that half of the ingredients to go into the smoothie were not available which meant changing my choice at least three times.

Not a Fan - Edit
The options for vegan food were clearly labeled; however, the burrito I ordered was very bland with no flavor! Maybe other items would be better! The tortilla was the best part! The upside is the drinks are great and you have an amazing view of the ocean! #Veganuary

I appreciated the fact that they had vegan food here. I had the wrap. Nothing too incredible, but fills you up.

Vegan burrito - Edit
Two of their burritos are vegan, I had the Thai inspired one with peanut sauce which was nice. Service was fast and you sit nicely at the beachfront, the place has really cool vibes. More vegan items are on the menu, all clearly labelled.

unpredictable and lacking - Edit
I've eaten here 3 times now, and while my first experience was good, the second two were mediocre at best. The last time, I ordered the vegan volcano bowl again and it came without cashews and avocado—two of the biggest vegan components of the dish. Even if they'd been present, it lacked flavor and the rice was crunchy. When I mentioned the missing ingredients the server I got a shrug and a "sorry". The smoothie I ordered was supposed to come with chia seeds, and those were also missing.

La ubicación es lo mejor!! Justo al frente del mar. El ambiente y decoración son hermosos. Las bebidas alcohólicas y no alcohólicas son muy ricas. La comida bien sabrosa pero de tamaño un poco pequeños.

Try the Veggie Volcano bowl- SO GOOD - Edit
My boyfriend and I (both vegetarian) went to this restaurant twice for the Veggie Volcano tiki bowl (SO GOOD) and also really enjoyed the Coconut Curry Hummus + Guac w/ plantain chips. There are a bunch of other great-sounding vegan and vegetarian options, but the Volcano bowl was so good we had to repeat! The waiter was really friendly and sweet, and you can't beat getting to sit at a table directly on the beach, just steps away from the water!

Pricey , but on the water - Edit
They have a few vegetarian options and a vegan burrito which was tasty. You are right on the water, so it is a little more expensive, but if the weather is nice, it is worth it! They also have good drink specials. Just make sure they charge you for the correct food and you aren't overcharged.

Not a lot of vegan options - Edit
When we went here today, they just had the vegan taco and the girl behind the bar seemed a little surprised when I asked her if they had vegan food, so I don’t quite get why this place is on HappyCow. We had some cocktails, which were not the best.

Amazing location, situated right on the beach of Puerto Viejo where we watched the sunset during happy hour. Cocktails were the nicest we’d experienced in Costa Rica, and staff were really friendly and super helpful! Will be back soon for sure😄

The staff is super friendly, they a have a puppy and a cat who are adorable, I had a drink only but it was amazing! Some veggie options that can be veganized if you remove the cheese. Nice outdoor seating spots and right on the beach. A whole 2 meters from the water!

Nice View... - Edit
My partner and I ate here today. It's good to find a place that's veg/vegan while travelling, especially overlooking the water. I ordered a Raw Salad, it was the most expensive salad so I thought it would be a big one. Unfortunately it was pretty small and a bit soggy.
Read moreMy partner got some tacos, he wasn't that impressed by them and said the portion size was too small for the price.
I also got a mint lemonade, the mint needs to just be muddled (full leaf) in the lemonade not blended. That's just my preference though.
All in all, it wasn't horrible but I can imagine these guys with their great location improving as they go.

Why can't I leave 1 star? (or none) - Edit
Seriously so bad. [edit by staff] The menu had nothing labelled as vegan but had the HappyCow logo on it which it really should not. Beyond the resturaunts control I guess but it's next to a diving school where we sat right next to horrible people (I'm from New York City so it takes A LOT for me to notice that type of thing) getting wasted, eating street kabobs saying 'no one should ever go veggie', and having generally obnoxious & crass conversation. The waitress was really clueless & unhelpful. Out of 3 sandwich options, they didn't have the one I wanted. No kombucha either so I got lemonade which was supposed to have mint in it but had some nasty dried green...stuff I don't even know what. I asked the waitress if the other sandwich options were vegan and she said it depended on the bread...ok? She said the cornbread was ok but I couldn't have pita, ciabatta or tortillas so I made her go ask because that makes NO sense. I got the tortilla option (surprise...she found out those were vegan, also what is in the pita? Vegan doesn't mean GF...) and what I got was 3 tiny wet? corn tortillas with basically baby food compost mush. The flavors were nasty. We went to go pay and our waitress had disappeared and the cashier had no clue what we had. This place is an absolute MESS.

Great veg alternative - Edit
This place can look a little bit hidden as it's not on the main road of Puerto Viejo but it's worth the visit. They have a really good menu and the food is very tasty.
