nothing great

There was nothing wrong with Preet's but there was nothing special about it either. I would not seek it out as a destination. Our bill w tip was about $35. That was for 2 $10 buffets a side and no drinks. They rely (as many places nowadays do) heavily on cilantro. The buffet had a channa on it, that was OK. The rice was OK. The other dishes were very heavy on cilantro.

Vegan notes about Preet's: The dairy sauce on the buffet is behind the vegan one, so there were a lot of drops of dairy in the vegan sauce. The otherwise vegan carrot s also had dairy in it. You could remedy that by separating them on either side of the salad bowl with clear labels.

Also, there was an issue about vegan menu items w the server. She claimed other than the few clear paneer (fried cheese) dishes, everything was vegan. When I asked what they sub out for yogurt and donuts on the Thali, she said the donuts were vegan. I only know they weren't bc the menu itself states there is milk in it. It's worth noting that perhaps there are other dishes which she may not know contain dairy...

The other service issue is I had to ask for the check at the register since they were not to be found. I am usually willing to sit in a pleasant cafe and wait w my ever present amazing company, but the couple behind me was hashing out all their intimate details of hatred for each other in an all too loud tone that was very embarrassing and uncomfortable. I almost said something to them, perhaps the establishment should have.

If you have any kitchen wherewithal, your amateur to solid effort will equate if not exceed the food here while saving a huge amount. The costs were not in line with the portions. A paratha for over $7, I figured it would be several at that rate.

I would go if I was very hungry in the area, but not be excited about it. Nor would I go out of my way or tell others to go.

Pros: vegan optioins

Cons: cost, nothing super, just ok

Fabulous Surprise!

I was having one of those days where I couldn't decide where I wanted to eat... I went through a mental list of restuarants and ticked them off one by one.
I'd never been to Preet's before and so I decided that I would give it a try as nothing else seem to interesting, or that their vegeterian menu was lacking.
I new nothing about this place other than it was indian food. I was SO HAPPY to learn that lunch was a completely vegetarian menu buffet! And for only $8!
I've gone back 4-5 times now, and I plan on going back many more times.

Pros: Great value, Friendly staff

Cons: Seating is a bit odd
