V nice food - Edit
Came here in the bus (in pouring rain) after doing a stage of the coast 2 coast. I enjoyed the stew and OH enjoyed hotdog. Tomorrow we eat at The Greyhound Inn (Shap) and we think this is part of the same group along w The Queen’s Head in Tirril. May well eat the same thing tomorrow! Stew must’ve been frozen then microwaved as slightly cold in one part, but was definitely homemade and healthy.

Fine - Edit
A decent amount of choices. I had the vegan roast which was a cauliflower and tofu Wellington. It was ok, the cauliflower was a bit mushy, not much flavour. They brought it out with a giant yorkshire pudding on top though which I sceptically asked if it was vegan. It wasn't. The waitress just plucked it off with her fingers and took the yorkshire back to the kitchen.

Good pub grub - Edit
So easy to order here, as there are several vegan options clearly marked on the menu. Staff were friendly and chatted about the good choice available for vegans. We had a healing stew and hot dog, both were really good - typical hearty pub grub. Nice little place too, super dog friendly and with loads of outdoor seating. We actually returned again another time as it had been tasty and reliable.

Great food, nice variety, poor service - Edit
First of all I want to say I had a lovely time at the Pooley Bridge Inn. The atmosphere was great, it looks super, and it was a warm and wintery pub all decked out for Christmas. I had the Vegan Pizza with the vegan loaded fries. The pizza was superb, lovely base with a really fresh and herby tomato sauce. My girlfriend went for the Macaroni Cheese and Halloumi fries as she eats dairy. Both had healthy portions and tasted great. The only downside was that once they seated us they forget we existed. For somewhere with table service the staff never came over once to ask us what we wanted or how it was going on.

Bog standard - Edit
Very typical bog standard pub grub. I had a chickpea curry here a while back. I actually stayed in the pub so had breakfast too, that was slim pickings for vegans.

Plant Dawgs at Pooley Bridge - Edit
Lovely location-parking outside & seating available on outside of restaurant for hotter days.
Read moreDog friendly- practically dogs at every table.
Staff are attentive. Clean & friendly atmosphere.
As for vegan options, the menu is very limited! We had vegan hot dogs & chips with purple slaw. The bread was a bit too hard (rustic roll) and it was quite difficult to eat. Chips were nice and the slaw.
Wouldn’t go back due to the fact the menu was very limited.
Pros: Nice location, Attentive staff
Cons: Limited options

Had vegan hot dog with chips and vegan cheesy garlic bread. Really generous portions. They had other vegan options on the menu such as a moving mountains burger and also a vegan pizza.

Hot dogs! - Edit
Easy meal for vegans with multiple options on clearly labelled menu. We both went for the hot dog which comes with generous side salad, chips and coleslaw. Very fast service through ordering by phone at table. Loss of outdoor seating and a car park. Next door to a lovely independent book shop with great coffee!

5 star - amazing vegan options. Friendly and efficient service. Dog friendly. Had an amazing vegan hot dog. It was massive and very tasty. Separate vegan section on menu including desserts. Staff were lovely. Log burner fire was great after a chilly walk. There is a car park.

Pooley Bridge Inn - Edit
Great option in the area. The risotto was vegan and delicious. The focaccia bread was also pretty tasty. The rice and chickpeas felt a little basic but it was still pretty good. I would definitely eat here again.

Delicious food, however forgotten order! - Edit
Visited here a week or so ago with friends, the setting was beautiful and the outdoor seating area was lovely. My two non-vegan friends received their food, and there was no sign of mine. I had to ask where my food was, and it turned out it hadn’t been made and the order was nowhere to be seen! We all ordered online, so who knows what went wrong, but my friends were almost finished eating by the time mine arrived. The food was delicious and I was really impressed with the options available, however I just wish the order hadn’t got lost and all our food arrived together as I would have rated higher.

Overpriced - Edit
There was a lot less choice here than we thought (maybe a reduced menu for covid?) and the prices were higher than on the website too. We got the loaded nachos to share (£9) and a burger (£13). Both were nice but I felt like they were overpriced and nothing special. The nachos were all store bought stuff - nice but not for £9.

After a days walking the next challenge was finding food .... - Edit
The main and vegan menu were immediately available. Plenty of variations of burgers, I don’t normally have burger but went for the Mexican. I love cooking and know how easy good tasty food can be to make; often pub food is “token” food but this was sooooo tasty!
