Quiet, small restaurant inside the owner's house. Uses some vegetables from the owner's garden. Makes Vietnamese cuisine including Phong Nha specialties. Example of dishes include banana flower tempura, rice pancakes with salad and seitan filling, soup noodle, and fried mushrooms. Planted pots filled with fresh herbs serve as decor. Reported to offer cow's milk June 2023. Open Mon-Sun 8:00am-9:00pm.

Watch out; Not actually Vegan!!! - Edit
The food at this place is awesome and vegan, however watch out with the drinks, some of them are made with cows milk! I found this to be very odd, since at the first page of their menu they advertise that everything is without animal products.
Read moreThis is simply incorrect and misleading.
For example they offer coffee with condensed milk. They should definitely change the menu, either by clearly marking the things on the menu that are not vegan or by changing the first page and the name of the restaurant to vegetarian.

Good vegan dinner - Edit
Lots of options, so a nice place to eat in phong nha, where there are no other veggie restaurants. Nice to sit by the river outside! We had some good options, the mushroom stir fry was delicious! The tempura oyster mushroom did not have much flavor and tasted a bit bland and boring. The mushroom in the nori paper skewers (forgot the tame) I thought were tasty and something different, especially with the sauce! But my partner did not find it that interesting though.

Very good, very vegan - Edit
We went here (two people) for dinner and ordered the enoki soy meat rolls, the sushi rolls, the spring rolls and the vegan pork stew. All was quite tasty but the enoki soy meat rolls were fantastic, highly recommend them! Not super cheap but definitely worth it. Also our food arrived very quickely and the staff was very nice.

amazing!’ - Edit
We ate every meal of our 3 day stay in Phong Nha here. The food was delicious and you get more than the usual options. I can recommend the braised aubergine, veggie tempura and the spicy soup! For drinks we liked the coconut mango smoothie and the lemonade. I didn’t love the spring rolls though as they lacked filling and flavour in comparison to other ones we had in vietnam.

Essen gut, Service sehr schlecht - Edit
Achtung! Gibt besseren Service in Phong Nha.

Very good food! - Edit
Ate here everyday during my stay in Phong Nha and always left very satisfied!
Read moreFlavourful dishes like lemongrass chili mushrooms (yum!), braised tofu (yum!) and grilled enoki with mock meat (yum!). Drinks are also good.
Friendly staff, beautiful sitting area facing the river.
I've only seen vegan food and drinks on the menu, they don't serve cow milk but soy.

Unclear If Vegan, Despite the Menu and Name - Edit
The narrative on the menu indicates that the restaurant is 100% vegan and plant-based. However, there is cow’s milk behind the counter where the smoothies and drinks are prepared.
Read moreThat being said, this restaurant appears to have the most vegan options in the area and appears to be the only restaurant in the area that does not serve meat. The salads were our favorite items! We ordered the salads multiple times!

Uninspiring - Edit
I got the phở, which had one small piece of fake meat in it. The rest was al vegetables, and there were very few fresh herbs. While it wasn’t expensive, the price was on the higher end for a bowl of phở, and I expected better. The staff are not very speedy either. The location next to the river is nice though, and they have a fair selection of dishes, with everything properly translated into English on the menu. There’s not much choice in Phong Nha, so this place scores points for being one of the very few clearly and specifically targeted for vegans.

Cons: Bad value for money, Bland, Slow service

Tasty varied menu - Edit
The food was tasty, I’m not really into meat replacements and some of them were just too ‘meaty’ for me which I personally find off putting. The drinks we just asked for non dairy milk and they were happy to use coconut/soy as a replacement. It does stipulate in the menu 100% plant based so as a very lactose intolerant family we’d have been unwell if previous reviews hadn’t have alerted us to the use of dairy in the shakes, this maybe needs addressed on the menu. There is not a great deal of choice in phong nha for vegan/veggie food but he’s definitely worth checking out!

The service is laid back but the food is fresh and delicious. They have really great salads, and all the other typical Vietnamese favourites. Really enjoyed the eggplant with peanut dish but my mainstay was the rainbow vermicelli salad and iced kumquat green tea. Really affordable.

Drinks are not 100% vegan - the food is amazing. - Edit
I actually really really loved the food here but I think it‘s not okay that they write in their menu that the restaurant is 100% plant-based. We only found out the second day that the smoothies contain cow‘s milk - so frustrating!

At time of review, all the food is vegan, just the drinks might have milk if they use condensed milk - Edit
Cute restaurant with lots of seating options. The person who served us also was able to communicate with us very well and explain what’s in the drinks.
Read moreThe braised tofu is absolutely phenomenal. The servings are so generous and with most Asian dishes, it’s meant to be shared so we left so full after ordering a main each.
This is actually the second restaurant in Vietnam we’ve been to where they have vegan in the name and it’s actually a vegetarian restaurant. We’ve learnt this is because there is actually no literal translation to vegan and google translate is incorrect so it seems it’s getting used interchangeably with vegetarian. The translated word for vegan is often “chay” (Vietnamese) and “jay/jey” (Thai) this word refers those practicing vegetarian for religious reasons. Those who are chay/jay actually vary in their criteria for what they can eat eg. some aren’t year round chay/jay, some exclude onion and garlic, some eat eggs and some have milk.

Lovely little place! - Edit
Delicious food and drinks are on offer at this lovely cafe/restaurant. We had the Vietnamese pancakes, coconut and milk coffees and the fresh spring rolls and they were all delicious!
Read moreHowever, it is important to note that despite the 'vegan' name and the claimed 100% plant based menu you should be sure to check with staff before ordering. The smoothies and milk coffees are made with condensed milk and the Vietnamese pancakes tasted like they could potentially contain egg.
The staff are great if you just ask.

Busy place, mixed review - Edit
Very popular place that was busy when we got there. Staffing seemed a bit chaotic. They unfortunately forgot our order although were apologetic I about it, so the food took a very long time. The tomato tofu was one of the best we’ve had in Vietnam but the noodle soups were pretty bland.
