Great food near Union Square! - Edit
I ate here once about 7 years ago and apparently wasn’t very impressed since I haven’t been back until recently, and now I’m kind of mad because I really enjoyed it here this time! They’ve definitely upped their game in my opinion.
Read moreThe menu is pretty small but interesting and they offer a TON of desserts, also smoothies and fresh juices.
I was craving something simple/minimalistic so I ordered the Peacefood bowl and the soup of the day (cauliflower artichoke). Both hit the spot. Nothing was exceedingly salty or oily. I was very satisfied with the portion sizes - the soup and the bowl both were generously sized (I eat a lot and am often upset about small portions everywhere!!).
The restaurant itself is quite spacious and although it was very busy on a Sunday afternoon, it didn’t feel cramped at all and the food came out fairly fast.
Pros: Big portions , Simple yet yummy flavors, not overly salty

Tasty, Healthy, Creative Cooking! - Edit
I’ve been a Peacefood fan for a long time now. Am usually there a few times a month & have had family birthday dinners there. Will add a photo next time I’m there.
Read moreThey (including the original uptown location) are famous for desserts, a wide menu, amazing daily soups, hot ginger-turmeric latte, & warm, friendly service. My faves: mushroom barley soup, Parmesan rigatoni with pfc cutlet, and a unique & delish strawberry shortcake.
I love other dishes here also, but can’t go on too long! 😉

So good, had to visit again - Edit
Ordered out and had the Tahini Sprouts Sandwich and Pumpkin Quiche. Both were excellent! Full of flavor and nutrients that leave you feeling happy and satisfied! It was so good that we might even order again today then I’ll try to get a picture without devouring it first. Dessert was good but I didn’t care for the coconut flavor that mich. We had the Raw Cheesecake and Strawberry Shortcake - strawberry flavor tasted a little artificial.

A warm welcome! - Edit
We needed a warm welcome on this cold November Tuesday in NYC and we got it at this place. The service was lovely, as was the setting. I started with a delicious balance tea, before I got the panini medaillions with a side of fries - DIVINE! Crispy, fresh, just yum! Highly recommended!

Diverse flavor options for a great value - Edit
We got the steak with fava beans and the wontons. Pretty sure the wontons were a daily special. Both were awesome and very different flavor wise. The menu items cover a wide range of flavors, so you can come here with folks when you’re all craving something different. For dessert we tried the tiramisu and carrot cake. My god, the dessert portions were so big, that’s enough to earn 5 stars from me lmao. Came here with another dessert ho and we couldn’t finish it all. Ambience is cozy and good for a chill date. Hope to go back soon!

A bit disappointed - Edit
From all of the good descriptions I was a little disappointed at my experience.
Read moreThe chickpea fries were very spicy, which was not described in the menu, and I asked to return them as it was too much for me.
The pumpkin quiche was very tasty and came with a very good side salad.
Service was not so good. Each time they came to my table they barely looked at me and seemed either annoyed or way too busy for what they could handle, which made me a little uncomfortable.

Such a great place - Edit
As other reviewers have mentioned, the food is great. And a nice varied menu. I had miso wonton soup - awesome and with the perfect amount of spice - and a tahini sprout sandwich - nice and satisfying. Great buzz in the place which on a Monday late lunchtime was about half full. Good space between the tables - we’re not all crammed together. And the severs were so nice and helpful. Definitely recommend.

Tasty options for dieters too. - Edit
Don't get me wrong, Peacefood Cafe's menu has lots of "comfort" type dishes and desserts if you're not worried about calories.
Read moreBut unlike most vegan restaurants these days, it also has some extremely healthy offerings if you are watching what you eat. Yesterday I had a fantastic bowl, consisting of quinoa (brown rice was the other option) with a choice of three different vegetables. I got kale, Japanese pumpkin and broccoli. I felt like I had eaten something as healthy and tastier than i could make at home. And it has a tasty ginger dressing on the side.
The service was kind and lovely. And unlike most upscale vegan restaurants these days, the background music volume is reasonable rather than ear splitting.
Pros: Healthy with lower calorie options, Lovely service , Not too loud

Peacefood Cafe Great Vegan Choice - Edit
Wonderful selection of appetizers, main course, desserts, and drinks. No alcohol but some alcohol free options. Many raw vegan choices too. We had the plantain lasagna, grilled oyster mushrooms, and teriyaki with some dumplings to start! All excellent with a generous portion. Turmeric ginger latte was good but not piping hot but nothing to complain about for sure. #Veganuary

Peacefood Cafe is everything you want a vegan cafe to be - clean, friendly and full of plentiful options.
Read moreThe outstanding nachos, smothered in cheese, guacamole and beans was topped with radishes. The dumplings, full of tofu and mushrooms had a lovely chewy texture which complemented the Thai sauce beautifully. The seitan panini was very good.
The selection of desserts was enormous. The raspberry crumble bar was decadent as was the large serving of carrot cake which was sweet but not overly so.
Pros: Many vegan options with homemade protein , Delicious food with variety , Excellent service
