Flavorless vegan food - Edit
I was excited to see News Bar Cafe had various vegan food options but was very disappointed with the quality.

- Vegan grilled cheese
- Vegan wrap
Both drastically lacked flavor. The texture of the fake meat was off-putting, chewy and had a subtle yet strange smell. As someone who’s not a huge fan of fake meat, this tasted inedible. The vegan cheese was also odd in taste and texture.
Sad to say but I ultimately ate the packet of potato chips and chucked the rest. Will not be going back again, except to maybe try some of the vegan baked goods (but I’m not sure if they’re made fresh in-house or bought elsewhere).

It’s a great coffee bar with a fair amount of vegan food. The vegan options are good, but nothing to be blown away by. All kinds of non-dairy milks, but that’s standard for NYC these days.

This is a fine coffee place with more vegan options than a typical coffee place. Considered as a restaurant, however, it fares less well, since its vegan options are far more limited than would be ideal for a restaurant listed on HappyCow.
