MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN COSTA RICA - Edit
Paz Y Flora was by far the best vegetarian/vegan restaurant I went to during my three months in Costa Rica. The presentation is beautiful, the flavors are satisfying and every meal has many different colors. I loved the squash soup with coconut milk on top and the mango salad with passion fruit dressing. They grow the passion fruit in their backyard! Which reminds me to say that all of the ingredients are so fresh! And many of the ingredients they use are not common in other costa rican restaurants but are good sources of vitamins and minerals for vegetarians and vegans. This is a place you must visit!

A lot of options but felt mediocre - Edit
There were a lot of vegan options, which is really nice. We had the Casado and the wrap.
Read moreThe Casado came with a patty that felt like it was a frozen patty from the supermarket and not something that was made in the kitchen.
The wrap was nice and came with fries but again, didn’t taste fresh or like it was homemade.
In any way the food was mediocre and not amazing but if you’re super hungry and just need a place to feel your tummy it could work
Pros: A lot of vegan options, Not expensive
Cons: Not fresh, Made from frozen food- I believe

Mediocre - Edit
Really mediocre food. The salad had canned vegetables in it, quite disappointing. The burrito didn’t seem to contain any beans. Left satiated and nothing tasted bad, so passable, but would not go back.

Cons: Bland food, Poor quality ingredients, Pricy for the quality of food

Nothing special - Edit
Had the vegan burger and was a little disappointed. I couldn't believe that it was equally or more expensive than in Spain and it wasn't really special. The other vegan options didn't attract me that much either. Loved the veganesa served with the French fries though. Even as much quantity as I wanted. I was even able to try the Guayabana fruit so I could decide whether I wanted a smoothie with that fruit.WiFi available, friendly staff

not very good - Edit
There were 2 ladies working there when we came, none of them speaks English or understands even 1 word in English but they have vegan and vegetarian menus written on the blackboards so we just showed the menu position with the finger. Food was average, lacking of flavour. Chocolate vegan cake was ok.

Fresh and yummy !! - Edit
great food and fresh juices. Really nice spot with indoor and outdoor seating and beautiful mosaics. Not completely vegan but half menu is vegan, half vegetarian. Soups, wraps, burritos, quesadillas and more. Healthy and flavourful with enough choices for everyone. Only one dessert option which looked great but was not vegan unfortunately😒most dishes around 8 dollars
Read morePros: Fresh and healthy, Very cute restaurant (and friendly staff and dogs, Lots of options (and almond /soy milk)

Sad salad - Edit
Really bad, we took the salad because we wanted something fresh and with nice ingredients like palm hearts. All the veggies came from cans also the mushrooms, it was super bad and expensive for what you got. You can make this yourself in 2 seconds for like 1 dollar..

Nice - Edit
We went here for dinner and both had the vegan soy burger. It was good although they did put mayonnaise on the burger. It was very busy so may have just been a mistake, we managed to scrape it off so it wasn't a problem for us but if you're ordering vegan food maybe make sure to say if you're vegan. There were lots of vegan and vegetarian options on the menu.

Nice veggie local food place - Edit
The menu's about half vegan half vegetarian plus a selection of smoothies. The vegan wrap is pretty good. I think the owners only speak Spanish and we had a bit of a misunderstanding where she thought I asked for two wraps and I said yes thinking they come two on one plate like the burritos, and I got two plates of the wraps meal. Oops. So yeah, although it says "wraps" (plural) on the menu, it's actually one wrap.

great little place! - Edit
This place is great! There's a ton of choices for vegetarian and vegan alike! We had the lentil burger and the Casado with soy meat. They were both delicious. Children had the quesadilla and the pasa with red sauce...yummy! 2 and 5 yr olds finished their plates completely! Only thing we didn't like were the French fries, but this had no impact on our impression of this place. Highly recommended!

Perfect Lunch Veg*n Lunch Spot! - Edit
Amazing selection of fresh, delicious juices (con leche o con agua!) and plenty of quick and tasty veggie options to choose from. We had one of their burritos and one of their wraps. They were a little skimpy on the french fries, but maybe that's a good thing, considering we were eating way too much of everything else while on vacation...

We really enjoyed our lunch here, just what we needed after a long hike through the Monteverde reserve. Fantastic service and great food. We had the hamburgers and really loved the soy meat patty. And of course, we had to try the vegan chocolate cake as well! Highly recommend.

Yummy Vegan Food! - Edit
I looked up Passiflora here on HappyCow before my trip to Costa Rica. Being Vegan I needed to know my options ahead of time :) So glad we went here! It was a bit hard to find, but there are some signs in the town of Santa Elena to guide you there. I had the Arroz de Jardinero which was so flavorful. Also had some fruit drinks local to Costa Rica. Great food at a great price. Gracias & Pura Vida!

So happy to find this place! - Edit
My boyfriend and I had lunch here after an exhilarating zipline adventure through the Monteyverde Cloud Forest. The cook/server/owner? was very nice and grateful for our business. The building was beautiful-tiles a large buddha and colored tiles that formed a beautiful tree on the front of it, and beautiful flowers planted all around. An absolutely beautiful bird came and landed in the tree outside and we were told that bird has lived nearby for four generations and is not afraid of people-so cool! Anyways the food was absolutely delicious and as always it's great to be able to choose from the entire menu as they are strictly a vegetarian restaurant. Also it was not expensive at all, so that's always a bonus.
