Decent casado - Edit
It's a cheap place with a few tables inside. They seem to have toys / games for kids to play with. The menu is quite extensive, lots of vegetarian options, not that many vegan ones.
Read moreI had the vegan casado which was quite nice as it came with avocado but it wasnothing to write home about. My bf's vegetarian quesadilla was huge.
The service fee is already included in the price, so no add-ons at the end. Food was about 5500 colones per person, 2000 colones for a coke. You can pay in either US dollars or colones.
Pros: Nice casado, Cheap, Service fee already included in the price

Basic vegan Casado - Edit
Exactly what you expect with a Costa Rican Casado. Nothing to phone home about but it was clean and tasted decent. Not the fanciest meal by any means but some good old fashioned rice and beans. Small family ran shop

Really nice local food - Edit
The venue is really cute, has wifi, and labels vegetarian options. I had the quesadilla which was around $8. The quesadillas had cheese and veg in them. You can see them preparing your food as you sit and wait to be served. The mint lemonade is also very delicious as well as sugar cane juice. At this restaurant you are able to pay by card.

Casado - Edit
They don’t have many vegan options (just the casado I guess?) but it’s really good! Everything about the dish is perfect and they put avocado in it so it’s the best. The waiter was lovely also and the restaurant very cozy. It gets busy so expect to wait if its full.

Solid food, not many vegan options - Edit
The veggie casado (vegan) was good and was really filling. The price is quite fair for the area, especially for the amount of food. There’s a really cute orange cat that lives in the restaurant. The menu has lots of vegetarian options but only a couple that can be made vegan (there’s also a soup and possibly a veggie pasta. I’m not sure about the veggie burger)

Sólo había Cazado vegano - Edit
No había mucha comida vegana.

Pros: Vegetarian style, Hamburguesa was so good
Cons: Cash Only

So happy I could try local food - Edit
Was really pleased I could try the local rice and beans. There was a serious language barrier so I couldn't work out of there were other options but that's totally on me. The food was fresh and healthy and the service was very friendly. The only sad but was we didn't get any plantain but I wonder if it was cooked in butter?

great find - Edit
This place was right next to our bnb. The vegan options are similar to a lot of things in CR with the "typical" casados. But they were tasty! Rice & Beans, plantains, avocado, and a potato stew type dish.

Delicious Traditional Food - Edit
The sign on the building says they offer “Best Vegetarian” so of course we had to try it. They didnt disappoint. The food was fresh, hot, and delicious. We ordered a casado vegetariano sin queso, and everything was perfect. The owner was very friendly, and I think she was also the chef. Homey feel to the place. Nice cold beer too.
Read morePros: Vegetarian options are noted on the menu, Ask for no cheese (sin queso) if you are vegan, Delicious, authentic, homemade, fresh
Cons: Owner doesnt speak English, but she provides , useful English-Spanish phrases on the table.
