Quick, cheap, and tasty - Edit
Small stall in the mall food court on the third floor (tucked in the corner on the left as you go in). Pick from the menu at the stall and get a receipt, then pay at the cashier desk.
Read moreSet menu meal for about 25 rupiah. We shared a couple of meals, which was a reasonable amount of food for two. Both had rice, sambal, stir fried greens, jackfruit curry and one with fried tempe and one with rendang. Good head from sambal, jackfruit was very tasty. The tempe was amazing, so much flavour, and nice and crispy!

Amazing food, the owners are lovely. Food is fresh so there is a wait for the food but it’s so so worth it. Dishes are pandang, so a variety of different bits, each bit we’ve tried has been delicious. We’ve been twice already and plan to go again.

Not the freshest tasting food but we arrived at the end of the day, an hour before closing time. The meal (rendang set) was however surprisingly tasty and good value for price. The place isn’t so vibey as it’s at the top of a mall in a quiet food court, but worth a visit for the actual food. Follow the directions closely from one of the recent Google map reviews as we didn’t and we got stuck finding it!

Hard to find as others say but it is definitely still there! Tiny stall and didn’t look appealing or appetising from outside but honestly try it- the flavours are amazing! It’s mega cheap - I had the rendang and will definitely be back again this trip!

The place is still open! You just have to make sure you go to the mall behind the one that's on the main street. Once there, it's on the third floor at the back 😊 (Note that both malls have food courts on the 3rd floor). The food was cheap, tasty, and the guy serving us was lovely. The portions aren't the biggest, but for the price it's absolutely understandable. Would definitely come again 👍

The food was delicious, however it took us a while to find as it is not in the main part of Malioboro mall. The entrance to this part of the mall is up the Novotel hotel driveway, and the food court is on level 3.

The food here was good, especially the tempeh. Prices are good. And right across from it is a juice bar that makes fresh non-sugary fruit juices (more of a smoothie consistency).
Read moreIt is very difficult to find. You think it's in the bustling Malioboro Plaza, but look for it in vain (hadn't read the Happy Cow description until now). The next day we got a WhatsApp response from the business, and even then it was difficult to find. The mall entrance is a small alley next to the Novotel Suites hotel entrance.

That mall made me uncomfortable. It just fell soulless. When you eat in the in the food court area you have 2-3 musics playing at the same time, which is very disturbing. I saw lots of great review so I still wanted to try. The mock meats are actually nice. I wouldn’t advise to go there tho, except if you are in the area and need to eat quickly.

My non-vegan dad and Indonesian mum loved this place as much as I did! It’s not easy to find (Malioboro mall entrance next to Novotel) and the food court is not atmospheric, but the food is delicious. Authentic padang flavours, and I was so happy to find djengkol (i’ve been keeping my eyes out for 2 weeks now). Cheap and plenty of options, we ate here twice.

Read moreIn the 3rd floor there is a big space with many "desk", each one making different food.. Padang vegan is the first one at the left when you arrive.
As written in the main description, you have to enter from behind the mall, in the Novotel Parking. I put some photo taken from google to better understand how to find it (wothout those I would have never found it!).
