Delicious vegan options - Edit
So happy to see vegan options in Balla! The Oxtail is a lovely restaurant above the Shebeen that offers locally sourced, fresh food. We rang ahead to ask if they could provide vegan options and they said it was no problem at all. When we arrived we let them know we were vegan and they gave us three options for dinner: a peppers olives and caper risotto, a salad that could be as a starter or main, and a chickpea lentil curry. We both went with the curry and it couldn’t have been more delicious! It tasted so fresh and we were even able to request it without onions! We practically licked our plates clean. They unfortunately did not have any vegan sorbets in stock for dessert but apologized sincerely for it and assured us that they do normally have it available as the chef makes it himself. They did have a wonderful selection of organic vegan teas though and the curry was so filling we didn’t need dessert. Overall I would definitely eat here again and applaud Oxtail for providing the first vegan options in Balla!
