Maybe better for lunch?

I went when it first opened for breakfast. There were 2 kinds of toast (avocado and french), oatmeal, a yogurt bowl and a breakfast meal. All of the toasts are one piece cut in half.

I ordered the breakfast meal, as it looked the most substantial. It had a sausage (small, not much flavour), tofu eggs (about 2 tbsp, bitter with too much turmeric), potatoes (2 wedges that were undercooked), salad (tasty) and one piece of hummus toast (best part, excellent bread). I also got organic orange juice, which tasted like it was from a bottle and sweetened.

Based on this, I wouldn’t go again. The bread, however, is excellent.

Pros: Fresh baked bread, Fast service (but we were the only ones there), Open earlier than most places

Cons: Small portions, Very little variety, Food flavours

amazing experience

I ate here twice, one time with the lunch menu and one time the breakfast menu.
everything was delicious, the prices were fitting and the ratio between price and quality was perfect. the french toast is highly recommended but everything was so good, definitely will come back. when it's busy you'll have to wait but even the ten minute wait the first time I came around was worth it. amazing place. if you eat outside, the view is stunning. if you're vegan and make it to osaka, this is a must visit place!

Solid spot for brunch on the river

We really enjoyed this spot and it's right on the river. The portions are a little small but it's a gem in Osaka for sure.

Soy milk ramen at weekend lunch

I’m shocked that nobody seems to have posted about the soy milk ramen, which is divine. So rich and delicious, I couldn’t finish it, which was too bad because I also was really looking forward to trying a dessert. I could not believe how good it was, especially considering this was not a dedicated ramen place. My dining companion had the Buddha bowl and also loved their meal. The Buddha bowl was a little on the small side for him but I felt my ramen was a little bigger than most people would need, so portioning seems a little uneven. We also split the kale citrus salad which was a nice small size and perfect for a side dish. Overall everything was great.

Lovely cafe but arrive early

Lovely cafe with a nice view of the river if you sit in the patio area. 20 min after they have opened in the morning the place was already full, so arrive early. The service was a bit slow, 30min to get the order ready. Food was good.

Pros: Nice view, Good food

Cons: You might need to line up if not arriving early , Slow service

Good food, good view

I had a Buddha bowl with fried soy and ate every last bit. The matcha was also pretty decent considering I don't usually enjoy it.

Pros: Wide menu, Views when sat outside

Amazing location, small portions

Really lovely view if you sit outside, menu is all vegan and lots of drinks options. Most of the breakfast foods are toasts of some type, with one granola bowl and one yogurt fruit bowl. If you're super hungry for breakfast order two toasts they're not particularly big (they're also not crazy expensive)

Pros: Atmosphere, Friendly, Location

Cons: Small portions

Delicious food, great view

We had lunch the first time we went to Optimus, and it was great. They must have accidentally served my meal to the table behind us as I received the food about 20 mins after my partner’s meal. We sat outside and enjoyed the view even though it was cold out.

We went back a couple of days later for breakfast and loved it! The French toast was incredible we ended up ordering it twice. The set menu deal is great as it comes with a coffee/tea/juice for only ¥200 yen more.

Would highly recommend!

Filling and tasty brekky, good vegan option near Yodoyabashi and Kitahama Station

The space is bigger than it looks from the outside, they offer both breakfast and lunch options.

We had the set brekky which came with a black coffee, the coffee was okay but the breakfast was very tasty.

Not many gf options for breakfast

This one was tasty but loses points because the breakfast menu was pretty limited for gluten free options. I ended up with a porridge which was nice

Underwhelming. Breakfasts look better than they tasted.

We had big expectations for this place being top-rated. The setting is REALLY nice and the meals come out looking great. They just lacked … flavour. We were quite underwhelmed actually. The cafe latte coffee with oat milk was like it was made using a pod machine (eg. Nespresso).
***The prices on the physical menu are not up to date. The price you pay (via their QR code) is more. ***
Unlikely to return. (Which is not like us…)

Healthy and really tasty!

We went to get lunch at Optimus Cafe. The dishes were very nice, but the best thing we had was the vegan tiramisu. Must try!! It’s also at a really nice and scenic location. Only downside was that we had to wait quite a bit for our food to show up. An incredible place nevertheless.

Yummy find

We had breaky here this morning and it was really tasty. I had the granola bowl- I just wish it was fresh fruit and not frozen on top. My husband had the big plate and really enjoyed it. Although, It had a lot of salad on it that I feel could be changed with some mushrooms or avo to give it more of a breaky feel. Overall really good tasting food and it was cheap 2000 yen for all of the meals and a drink.

We came 3 times in 3 days!

Title says it all - we had a great lunch here and ended up coming back for breakfast the next two days!
We were really pleased to have such a solid option close to our hotel. Highly recommended!

Healthy meal but not wow taste

I ordered the Winter Buddha bowl, which had around 8 different dishes in it. They're all well made and I can feel that they put good effort into making them. But the taste wasn't that impressive. Don't get me wrong, it was still good but not " I want to come here again" good.
For this price, I'd expect something tastier and/or more portion size.
Seating was too high and a bit uncomfortable.

Best Vegan French Toast

This was our favorite breakfast spot. I started off with a beet and berry smoothie and topped it off with vegan french toast. It was indulgent, crispy, and lightly sweetened with whipped cream and a caramel drizzle. And if you're lucky, you might be able to grab a table facing the river.

Too expensive, too small portions

Apparently they have special prices for weekends which are much higher than their already not so low regular ones. The autumn bowl was pretty small, got a tiny bowl of mashed potatoes and two popcorn next to it for some reason, and there were some olive pits in the salad.. Not worth 1750 yen.
I guess they have a nice view over the river...

5/5 - apart from the coffee

I had the fried soy meat bowl and a falafel pita and boy did they both hit the spot. The falafel was some of the best I’ve ever had. Super crisp on the outside and moist on the inside with some really nice flavours. The soy meat bowl was exactly that, generous serving of fried soy meat with some fresh veggies to compliment it along with home made hummus which was delish. I don’t expect much from plant based milky coffee in Japan but unfortunately the oat latte was pretty bad. Tasted like instant coffee with a dash of milk which is fine, but when you’re charging 650¥ for an “oat latte” I expect a lot more.

Pros: Falafel, Crunchy fried soy meat , Serving size

Cons: Avoid the oat latte :)

Meh

Sausage felt like it was not cooked (stringy seitan). Potatoes in tofu scramble were very firm still. Toast wasn’t toasted. Jura coffee machine rather than manual machine so grabbed a coffee at Moto coffee a little bit down the road.
Unfortunately all outside seats were taken so I suggest getting here before 9:30am.

Riverfront veggie delight

Make sure that if you want lunch you wait until 11am or get a breakfast item and then wait for 11 and ask for the lunch menu! Everything we had was good though!
