Oproer Brew Pub has a nice restaurant - Edit
Although outside city center it is definitely worth while visiting. Activist appearance but with friendly people and wide choice of dishes. Need to come back to taste the rest of the dishes

Ultimate Beer and Food combo - Edit
Great restaurant in an industrial setting. The location (CAB Rondom) is becoming a real great place!! Reataurant belongs to the Oproer brewery and thus serves great beers, which makes it also a great location for "just drinking beers".

Won't be returning - Edit
We were so excited to try this place since it's one of the few vegan restaurants in Utrecht but were very disappointed. The food is so-so and extremely expensive. Same goes for the beers. Love the idea but for these prices I'd rather stay home and cook myself.

Beer and good bites - Edit
Lovely place to have a few beers with friends, while enjoying nice vegan comfort food. The design of the place is a love it or hate it, I personaly like the industrial atmosphere. The restaurant lies a bit out of the centre but its close to a trainstation that connects you to the city center in about 5 minutes.
Read moreThey change the menu quite a lot, which is nice if you are a frequent visitor. I always think their menu is interesting, its nice to have a place that serves something else than a vegan burger.
The only downside is that the beers are quite expensive. Understandable, because its all brewed by themselves, but it would be nice to have a regular tap beer if you are not planning to spend a lot of money.
Pros: Beers, Interesting menu, industrial atmosphere
Cons: Noisy when busy, Maybe a bit expensive

Great food and positive vibe! - Edit
Oproer is very spacious and has a really cool vibe. The food is really tasty. Not the best vegan food I've had, but it was definitely worth the walk there.

Absolutely Fantastic! - Edit
I was brought to this restaurant by two locals who are foodies. After entering a back entrance of a warehouse, I wasn't expecting much, but when I entered, I saw a large, beautiful space with every table taken but ours.
Read moreThe server and staff were very friendly and helpful The food was perfect.
I started with a a tray of french fries and a spectacular creamy vegan dip., and the chorizo, which as among the best vegan chorizo I have tried. The chorizo came with a carmelized onion spread and arugula, and the combination of the three ingredients created the perfect appetizer.
The lentil loaf with a parsnip puree was phenomenal as well.
This is a tremendous find, but be sure to make reservations, as this place is incredibly popular with vegans and non-vegans, and they change their menu regular.
Highly recommended!
Pros: Phenomenal food, Wonderful service

Had a really delicious and fun meal with beer pairing. All food is vegan, so go wild! It’s located in a warehouse that was a bit scary on the outside but charming and wonderful inside.

Awesome - Edit
Great atmosphere, great creative food.
Read moreDid I mention the beer?
The mushroom/seitan vol-au-vent was probably the best quality vegan dish I ever ate. Everything was done right. From the charred brussels sprouts to the texture of the seitan.
Portions could be a bit bigger. They are restaurant sized but we all know us vegans need to eat a frickin' lot!
Price is fair for Dutch standards.

Delightful spot for a vegan foodie and homebrewer! - Edit
Visiting Feist and Utrecht for a few days for a conference, I was excited to find this place as my spouse is a home brewer and beer aficionado and I am foodie and long-time vegan. We were exploring with two friends and decided to walk from Utrech Centraal. I'd recommend the bus (4) or sprinter train instead although I enjoyed the walk.
Read moreBecause there were 4 of us we were able to try and share 5 of the 7 food items on the menu--ceasar salad, fried potatoes with a delicious yogurt dip, a fajita taco plate and a dish of aubergine packets over quinoa with rocket and two lovely sauces. Finally, we each enjoyed a portion of hte peach melba dessert which was delightful! Apparently the menu changes regularly. I would recommend any of the dishes we tried. I was impressed with quality of the food they prepared in a tiny kitchen. Friendly and helpful staff. Loved it.
Pros: Everything is vegan, Great beer and other beverage selection, Friendly staff

Great food - Edit
Great food from cooks who know how to prepare nice dishes. The food can be quite adventurous and now and then I find it to be a bit too expensive for the amount of food you're getting. But generally well recommended and definitely worth it. Especially if you're looking for a 100% vegan restaurant.

Great! - Edit
For some reasons I always thought it was tough to get to this place by public transport. But when a group of vegan folks organized a meeting here I finally decided to check it out and I discovered that the place is right next to the train station Urecht Zuilen. I did not check out other means of Public Transport, there might be more possibilities, but I was happy to see that the place was only minutes away from Utrecht Central Station (by train, that is). And I was even more happy when I finally made it. Good vegan food (3 courses, of course), nice atmosphere, friendly staff and a variety of good vegan beer. The day we went there there was a special action: you could order 6 sorts of beer in very small glasses and if you guessed what was what you could win an "Oproer" t-shirt. Two folks from our table tried, but they did not win - too many possibilities.

Industrial Dining - Edit
This place is located in an old warehouse or some other past industrial facility. The cool thing is that although it is a large spacious room with a high ceiling, it feels cozy and warm. The atmosphere is great!

Very nice food - Edit
Just had a main course here, and tried many beers ofcourse! My food was really good, obviously made with care, and some great flavors that really complemented eachother. Well done. Though the portion could have been slightly bigger. If the menu for example says 'side-salad' and you get two stems of some herbs with half a spoon of pommegranate that's not salad but a little bit of garnish.
Read moreService was friendly too, and the food arrived quite fast. Prices were decent considering the food is organic, but not especially cheap for an industrial location. Will visit again for sure.
Update: went again in October, and I did like this meno a bit more, as the portions were a bit bigger and the taste still great! They also are getting more and more beers on tap, I can't wait to go back again.

Not great... - Edit
I wanted to eat here for a long time, and yesterday me and boyfriend finally did it. Since I'm pregnant I wasn't able to taste the beers, but according to my bf they were great.
Read moreThe food however, was not that great at all. We had the 'snack plank' and were a little disappointed that this starter existed out of all the stereotypical vegan things such as hummus, cucumber, celery and carrots.. Not surprising!
For the main course, we had the Parelduiker, it was nice, but not great. The burger was not crunchy and the side dishes existed out of mostly celery and carrots again.. Some fries or something would have been nice... I think the food was overpriced, after a starter and a main course we weren't satisfied at all but it did cost us a lot of money!
Also, one of the people who worked there changing clothes in front of the visitors made it a little weird too.
Pros: Beers, Completely vegan
Cons: The food , Expensive (Overpriced)

Great new addition to Utrecht. The food is tasty, but portions are somewhat on the small side. Which isn't all bad, cause that leaves plenty of room to try more of their craft beers ;) Also: location is not in the city centre, but very accessable due to the train station next door. And don't forget to check out the local bands in dB's next door.
