very nice noodles - Edit
this was my favourite food in maastricht. Both the dumplings (steamed, with lots of szechuan pepper in the spicy sauce) and the cucumber / sesame noodles were fantastic. also a filling portion for a good price.

Just okay - Edit
Went here because of the good reviews. For me personally didn't live up to those. Came in early on a Friday night (17.30) and was already quite busy. When we left 45 minutes later the place was packed and people were waiting to be seated so it's quite popular.
Read moreThe food however was very one dimensional in my opinion. I had the sweet potato noodles in broth. The sweet potato noodles had a glass noodle type of texture and were rather slippery, I didn't love them. Regular (udon) noodles looked good but haven't tried. The broth was very one dimensional, basically all I really tasted was salt. Also a missed opportunity for me to not serve this with tofu or any other protein source. Did not feel like a complete meal as there were barely any vegetables (just some bean sprouts and spring onions) and no protein source.
Portion size was good though and there were actually quite a lot of noodles in the bowl.
Staff was friendly and the place looked authentic and seemed well taken care of. But all in all I would not come back and would not recommend.
Pros: Portion size
Cons: Food did not impress, Lack of protein source

So Good and authentic - Edit
It was so delicious, I can really recommend this place.
Read moreThe kelp broth was just what I needed, my partner ordered a dish with noodles made out of sweet potatoes, which I even liked more than the Udon.
Even though both were very good.
He had more of a chinese falvoured soup, which had a lot of an umami taste and was spicy, my soup had a classical japanese taste.
The service was quick and nice and we enjoyed the atmosphere.
We also ordered some starters, the fried gyozas and the pancakes, the gyozas had a stronger flavour (a lot of onions).
They were good as well, but as a personal preference I am not so much into fried food, thats why the soup gave it all to me.
We will surely come back and enjoy the food angain!
Pros: Enough vegan options, Good price for what you get, Nice atmosphere and service
