Visited Offbeet for my birthday meal and I was very impressed with the food and cocktails. Everything was so delicious and creative. I really enjoyed that they made vegetables the main event rather than using lots of meat alternatives. I would definitely recommend Offbeet for a special occasion, it is well worth a visit. The staff were also amazing and made the dining experience very positive😄

Absolutely beautiful - Edit
We came here for my birthday as ordinarily can’t justify the high prices, and it was lovely. The highlight was definitely the desserts, but we also just loved the general ambience of the restaurant. Mains were great but smaller than expected, especially for the money. What I also thought was really sweet is that they wrote me a birthday card!

Pete is a magician with veg. The menu is so innovative! We had the tasting menu at new years and we didn’t know what we were getting but it was all a wonderfully tasty surprise. There is never any doubt at Offbeet, you just know the food is gonna be epic.

Offbeat - Edit
Visited here for lunch with friends whilst holidaying in the area. I’m so pleased we did! It’s a beautiful venue, situated in a picturesque location with stunning countryside views. Although it is a fine dining establishment it had no air of pretentiousness, instead we were greeted by a welcoming atmosphere and friendly, attentive service. Dog friendly too which was a plus for me. We all opted for mains, myself the gnocchi which was a taste sensation. Every element perfectly cooked and ingredients that balanced and paired with each other deliciously. I’m pretty sure I could eat that everyday! I would have no hesitation returning next time I’m in the area and in fact look forward to that very day.

A fantastic restaurant worth the 1 hour drive here and higher priced food. We are amazed by the consistant quality taste, theatrics, and top visuals provided every time. Every part of the dish is thoroughly thought out.

Amazing place! - Edit
What a fantastic restaurant! The food, drink and service were all impeccable. Staff were attentive, friendly and helpful - we were celebrating an anniversary and the restaurant gave us a wonderful hand written card - it's these personal touches that set a restaurant apart from others! The food and drink were delicious, plenty of options. Knowing children and dogs are welcome means we'll definitely be returning with the rest of our family! Thankyou for such a wonderful evening.

Fine dining vegan style - Edit
It's an amazing vegan restaurant in the south with warm atmosphere. After the incredible starters and upon reading the main's descriptions, we didn't feel the mains met our expectations and left us thinking next time we'll try the other dishes, which was unfortunate but didn't put us off. Will come again for tapas & cocktails. Staff were great, left us a celebratory card on table. Awesome.

The Best Plant Based Restaurant in the BCP/New Forest area by far! - Edit
This was the best plant based restaurant experience that we have had since we arrived in Bournemouth over 3 years ago. A special occasion restaurant too. There is no plant based only restaurant like this in the BCP/New Forest area (Note this restaurant is NOT in Southampton. It is outside Christchurch). First of all, the ambiance is calm, understated, clean, modern and spacious. The background music is low enough to have a conversation, while still enabling privacy. The tables are well spaced. The restrooms are clean. Next, the staff are efficient, friendly, helpful and calmly professional. Thirdly, the pricing for the level of cuisine you get, represents excellent value for money. And finally, the food. What an experience in its own right. Each choice on the menu was an explosion of tastes and textures, beautifully presented. Each offering was multifaceted e.g. the Lebanese Potatoes, i.e. "A spice blend of over 8 spices, sour cream, pomegranate, mint and sultana". And it really was such a blend of tastes. And this was just a side/accompaniment. An amazing plant based restaurant!!.

You have to try this place! - Edit
I was recommended to try this restaurant by someone on Happy Cow… so when I found myself staying in Highcliffe, only 8 minutes drive away I finally persuaded 2 friends to meet me here! Just wow. The location… the decor, the service…. Then there’s the food and drink which were out of this world. I’m a coeliac vegan so to be catered for so well and still want to go back to sample other delights is a rarity for me…. I love this place and will be back again, just amazing.

Since Offbeet moved to their new location at The Retreat in the New Forest they have really upped their game. Their food has always been very good but now it is exceptional with unusual and intriguing flavour combinations. They set themselves really high standards and they achieve them. The decor has also been carefully planned to provide a calm, relaxing atmosphere. Very highly recommended.

KNOCK KNOCK MICHELIN, YOU LISTENING?! GET YOURSELVES TO OFFBEET ASAP. - Edit
I own a recently opened plant-based eatery and ever since Chef Peter Axworthy unexpectedly visited my place, I had been desperate to allocate time to visit his restaurant. I finally did, and took two others with me.
Read moreWalking into the restaurant, for anyone who ventures into hospitality, it is like a mystical Palace. Every embellishment, be it macro or micro, has been meticulously executed to keep the guests' senses highly engaged throughout the duration of their stay.
We had drinks and nibbles to start: English Garden cocktail, popponcini peppers, Quitebait, mocktail harvest apple smash, hot chocolate, and matcha blend. The peppers were incredibly moreish and so flavourful. The lemon juice drizzle did so much to enhance the combination of the quitebait fritters with the dill-cucumber dip.
For starters we had the smoked Carrot lox, oyster mushroom scallops, and the tacos. For mains, woodland walk, fish cake and seitan cannon, with a side of focaccia bread all to share. For those who eat visually, Offbeet is a paradise. Hereinafter it's incredibly difficult to articulate the experience with never-before encountered flavours and textures without sounding flowery and incoherent. All I can say is that the ingenious use of traditional and modernist techniques, molecular gastronomy and clearly second-to-none emulation of non-veg provided us with a plethora of olfactory explosions...I felt taste receptors being activated I never knew were there. Where one would expect umami, it is definitely there.
We had both desserts to share. Wow. From the table mist to accompany 'A gift of chocolate' to the delicate and subtle variations in 'doughnut you love strawberries', they were decadent, 'nom nom' inducing culminations that truly delight every sense organ.
Finally, we retired to the bar sofa, where I sipped on a beautiful campfire old fashioned (best old fashioned I've ever had) and slowly nibbled on the famous 'bacon' nuts and Lebanese potatoes. A truly cosy wrap-up to an indellible sensory experience. Would give 1000/5 stars if I could. For those who say it is too far? No, it isn't. Not for this kinda cuisine.
Thank you Offbeet team for your delightful hosting, and thank you Chef for your creations of incomparable cullinary art. We so look forward to eating your next discoveries from your gastro-laboratory. Having eaten in a michelin star establishment, You definitely deserve that michelin star. Thank you again.

A wonderful experience - Edit
We’ve been meaning to visit for a while so were happy to call in for lunch today. What a wonderful experience we all had. The food was delicious and fresh, the staff were friendly and happy to help. The surroundings are lovely, bright, clean and stylish. We brought our dog in which I believe is a new thing (Rufus’ picture is on Instagram now). We will be back as soon as we can.

Had another delicious meal at Offbeet. The restaurant is spacious and has a lovely atmosphere. The food is stunningly presented and the flavours and textures are amazing. The chef certainly likes to play with the diners mind - some dishes have aspects that defy the norm for taste and texture. That said, the surprises are all good. The price reflects the quality of the food and the sheer effort to create. Service was very good, attentive but not

really well presented, beautifully fresh tasting vegan food at mid-range prices - adding up to excellent value. An extensive range of cakes is always a welcome bonus. Dogs welcome too. Staff are really friendly. Drove for nearly 2 hours to get here ... and would do so readily again.
Read moreUpdate: Dec 2021 - just paid our first visit to the new restaurant and all I can say is "Wow!". The ambience is great - really hits you when you first walk in, with a relaxing bar area. The food and flavours are of the highest quality - reasonably pricey, but you do get what you pay for. A place to satisfy your tastebuds, rather than your stomach. Apparently, if you are bringing a dog [we didn't this time, but asked], note it on your reservation so they can put you in a more appropriate area, although the place is really spacious. It seems they are re-opening the cookery school, and another venue in Southsea, in 2022
