The best bread - Edit
There should be an Odete in every city, it is so good. Amazing bread that they make delicious sandwiches with and many other treats. We cancelled our hotel breakfast and went here instead! Super friendly staff as well!

Amazing bakery - Edit
excellent sourdough and vegan bakery! I really recommend going there. I test bakeries, not pastries, like the pain au chocolat, cinnamon roll and pastel de nata. It was delicious, as was the sandwich. I didn't like the pastel de nata, which isn't the best.

Maybe the best vegan bakery I ate at so far. All kinds of food I had there - sandwiches, pizzas and pastries - was really delicious. Definitely worth a visit!

Cute little Café - Edit
The Café itself is very cute, but the Americano I had was really not that good as it was very, very watery. Would not recommend the coffee here, Unfortunately. We had the Cinnamon Roll and the Pasta del Nata. Cinnamon Roll was okay-ish & Pasta del Nata super, super good. But be aware they only have them from 11 on and sell out rather quickly.

Great vegan bakery and pastel de nata! - Edit
For us, the first time pastel de nata in Portugal, all vegan! A full vegan bakery with all kinds of delicacies. Delicious pastries, sandwiches and focazzias. Super cute interior and incredibly nice and welcoming staff. Highly recommended!

Not quite there... - Edit
I don't understand the ratings on this place. I tried a pain au chocolat and a cinnamon role and they were both terrible. I've lived in cities where "artisan bakery" isn't slapped on just any place so I honestly don't understand how this place can call itself that. The pain au chocolat had so little filling and it was grainy like it had been refrigerated for days. The layers of the dough also weren't made in an "artisan" way... The cinnamon roll was so stiff and had a very bad aftertaste, that I tried one bite and refused to touch it.
Read moreIf I were the owner of this place, I would either send my baker on more educations or hire a proper one. Really sorry but this place needs much more work!
Some few vegan places I've visited which really deserve to call themselves "artisan" are: Saint Jean in Amsterdam, Margo's in Amsterdam, Leve in Malmö, Mat-och chokladstudion Malmö. I would guess there are even better ones in Paris and in Italy.

great pastel de nata - Edit
I just love vegan bakeries so much. I got the last pastel de nata of the day, which was so delicious, and a cinnamon roll which I also really enjoyed. Their prices were good.
Read moreOnly downside is the location because it's a bit outside the area you'd usually be in as a tourist so you probably have to go out of your way to get there, just for the patries I probably wouldn't make the way again but for a full lunch I would!
Also the entire café is really cute, visibly open minded and friendly.

Visited a couple of times. The pastel de nata was delicious but you have to go relatively early as they were out when we went closer to closing time.

Vegan pastel de nata and more - Edit
Don't miss their pastel de nata, it's really good and you will not find many vegans version of it in Portugal. They also offer many other delicious pastries: pan-au-chocolat, brioche, tartelette, cinnamon rolls.... the sanduiches are really good too, made with fresh ingredients and amazing bread. Had I spent more days in Porto I would have gone there everyday for breakfast and lunch.

Good but not incredible - Edit
We went twice to this place, once to get bread. We got a brioche bread and it was okay, not incredible. I couldn’t really tell whether it was fresh or not. The second time we had a pastel de nata and a croissant, which were both good.

The vegan bakery of my dreams - Edit
Odete bakery is such a cozy nice place which offers many delicious freshly baked goods like bread and bagutte, pastel de nata (just wonderful!), cinnamon roles, croissants, muffins, little tartlettes, but also savory foods like quiche, breads or pizza. I loved everything there - the food, the nice stuff, the music and the small rainbow flag. Will definitely go there again as long as I am still in Porto!
