Consistently solid & affordable Indian food! - Edit

I'd be the first to give Not Just Snacks 5 cows if allowed - non veg places can't get higher than 4 cows. We've been visiting Not Just Snacks for 10 or more years; a couple of years back the menu was overhauled with the several vegan items now clearly labeled. Vegan items include: Dahl Curry, Aloo Gobhi, Channa Masala, Lentil Soup, Mulligatawny Soup, Roti, Masala Dosa, Pani Puri, Aloo Tiki, Khasta Khachuri and more. The owner is quite accommodating, even removing the ghee from the original basmati rice recipe. Unfortunately the samosas mentioned in the previous review are not vegan. The owner/chef was taught to cook by his mother - we feel you can certainly taste the difference.

Pros: Vegan items listed., Affordable., Outdoor seating.

Top notch Indian food - Edit

Not Just Snacks offers the best Indian/south Asian food in the area. (I think the really nice people that own this are actually from Bangladesh, although I could be wrong.) NJS consistently has the BEST samosas ever -- and I've tried them all over the US and Canada. Nice and spicy. Many dishes can be made vegan, too. Recommended vegan dishes: aloo palak (potatoes + spinach), dal curry, and mulligatawny soup. Their pakoras and breads are great, as well. Also, they have Thums Up betel nut flavored Indian cola. The family that runs NJS are the nicest, too. Be sure to check out their other stores, Not Just Spices (market) and Not Just Handicrafts (shop), while you're there. The interior of the restaurant is pretty basic and unadorned, but it's never bothered me. There is a nice patio for outdoor dining in the warm weather.

Pros: best samosas ever!, great vegan entrees, Thums Up soda

Cons: not much ambiance, but who cares!
