Lovely food from a zero waste hero - Edit
I had the salad, soup with bread and vegan spread, and vegan plum cake. The cafe works as follows: coffees and cakes are priced, all other food is pay as you feel. You can pay cash or card, and you can pay for a pay it forward coffee for someone else who needs one. I fully support their zero waste ethos. It's staffed by volunteers so the service can be somewhat confusing.

Nice community cafe with pay-what-you-feel dishes and vegan options - Edit
Very nice spot repurposing food waste into delicious meals, the menu rotates but there seem to always be veggie and vegan options. It has pay what you can and pay it forward options so all can have a good meal. It had friendly volunteers running it who knew about what was vegan. Also good local coffee

Nice Cafe - Edit
Lovely little cafe with a good ethos.
Read moreNice coffee but 20p extra for oat or soy milk. Had a couple of vegan cakes (plum cake & iced bun) which were tasty.
A vegan full breakfast was the savoury option that day (Sunday), which we didn’t try it as only a quick stop.
Pros: Nice welcome , Good coffee
Cons: A few more veggie options would be good

Love these kind of places - Edit
So, despite having a genuine and very literal 'two soups' experience, we had such a lovely time. The food 'waste' is treated with dignity and respect making it delicious and wholesome (broccoli confidently roasted to a char point worthy of a top end resteraunt!). The food 'waste' dictates the menu, so its a mix of animal based freegan with vegan options. Still, if you're in the area it's well worth supporting.

Great food and coffee, lovely atmosphere - Edit
Lovely place! You never know exactly what they'll be serving, but today they had several tasty-sounding vegan options, including a curry, bean chilli and soup. We plumped for the vegan chick*n sandwich, which came with a nicely dressed salad and vegan coleslaw. Great to find a place in Berwick that understands vegan. And the coffee was good, too!

Soulful - Edit
We loved our two experiences of eating in this soulful place! What magic they work from donated ingredients, really friendly service and some nice vegan options although it is not a vegan cafe. I am looking forward to the branch again fir my next visit x

Zero waste cafe. Love the ethos, needs more vegan options - Edit
I fully appreciate that with the line of work, they can’t guarantee options for vegans so that’s why I’ve still given 4 stars however to be fully inclusive & environmentally friendly, needs more vegan options & emphasis on Veganism. LOVE ethos & the work, amazing work they’re doing, keep it up!
Read morePros: Zero waste , Pay what you think , Lovely amazing staff, very welcoming
Cons: Only 1 vegan option, no cakes whatsoever etc , Only enough oat milk for 1 person (lots of dairy)

Great ethos - Edit
I was made made welcome at this zero waste cafe. They had several vegan options the day I visited and the housemade hummus, pitta and salad made a nice light meal.

Black & Gold - Edit
Wonderful zero waste food concept place that always has something vegan every day as well as a soup. Today it was a delicious bean chilli which was served on brown rice. Go and support this venture and by doing so you’re also helping out the local football team Berwick Rangers as they are their current shirt sponsors. You simply pay what you feel into a brown envelope at the end. Don’t be mean!!
