Great food & a nice variety of cakes - Edit
Got a pizza which was lovely along with a cake and a box of sweets - Great selection on the menu
Read moreHad a bizarre interaction with the waitress when ordering which I thought was funny. I asked could I have some mushrooms on the pizza and was told that this is a vegan restaurant that they don't serve them I thought she misunderstood me and repeated again but no apparently mushrooms are not vegan very weird.

SO GOOD - Edit
This was the best meal ever, not sure how much this was impacted by how hungry I was but regardless, definitely try to get here to try some delicious vegan versions of traditional Hungarian food. I had the cabbage roll dish which included a faux sausage, sauerkraut, seitan steak and faux sour cream. So delicious and different from the standard western vegan food you get in restaurants. The staff were lovely. They also have a huge selection of amazing cakes (and a few traditional desserts too)

Beyond awesome - Edit
Finally a proper vegan restaurant with a variety of dishes to choose from (including desserts!) and not just a fast food truck. Atmosphere was nice, waiters as well and the food was great (try the "salty peanut butter cake!).

Menu with a lot of variety - Edit
We visited Napfenyes several times while in Budapest, and never left disappointed. It has a wide variety of options, and out of those we tried, seitan kiev, falafel platter, goluash soup and Hawaii shake stood out the most. We also tried two of their pizzas - one pizza can easily feed two adults! The portions are generous, and it’s possible to buy cakes to go. A must-visit for all vegans going to Budapest!

Lots of vegan options but slightly strange atmosphere. We shared the platter which was okay but I think there were better options on the menu.

An all-vegan restaurant and pastry shop in the heart of Budapest. The forest berry cheesecake was the best and not too sweet. Awesome!

Great Pizzas, Soups, Desserts - Edit
I've visited twice during my short Budapest visit. Had the Coal Burner Pizza, chestnut soup, babgulyas soup (traditional hungarian), salads from the bar and Kremes cake. Everything was really delicious. The vegan cheese on the pizza melted really nice and tasted really good. All desserts look amazing. Compared to the rest, the salads were quite ordinary, yet fresh and nicely prepared.

One of the best vegan cakes I have had - Edit
The cakes here are amazing. I had a chocolate cake and it was delicious. My advice would be to stick to the things other reviewers have recommended. I had a tofu soup and it was not that special but the cake and smoothie were great as others have said. The staff were really nice too.

Great service, okay food - Edit
I am currently traveling eastern europe and the balkans. I spent a few days in Budapest and found this restaurant right around the corner of my hostel. I had quite a feast! Soup, smoothie + pizza. The first two were quite good, mainly just got them for the healthy benefits of eating greens and veggies as much as possible. The pizza was a disappointment. It was supposed to have lots of greens but it didn't have that much and it was a little dry. I'm also not a huge fan of vegan cheese. I'm trying to eat a low fat whole foods diet but it's a little challenging in restaurants. Need to just cook more at the hostels. But the staff were friendly and it's always good to see, visit and support establishments that are 100% vegan.
Read morePros: Big restaurant, Friendly staff, Deliscious menu
Cons: Dry pizza, daily specials were all out, Green pizza didn't have that much greens on it

Fantastic Hungarian Food - Edit
I absolutely loved this restaurant and how it was traditional Hungarian Dishes but veganised. I recommend the whole menu and their daily menu is a fantastic offer!
Read moreTheir platters are lovely and they are very healthy portions for the price. I have also tried their pizzas which are very delicious. I also loved how popular this restaurant is for being a vegan restaurant and you probably wouldn't know it is vegan. The food quality is fantastic and definitely an impressive restaurant to take non-vegans. Lots of space and the staff are very friendly and informative.
Pros: Incredible Menu and food, Traditional Hungarian Dishes, Huge portions!

Lecso - Edit
Big vegan restaurant, not ultra modern and hip, but nice even for some family gatherings. I orderes lecso with tempeh and fried steak potatoes. It was good, portion was big! :) I could not finish it but almost I did hah, really good for people with apetite. Food was more heavy, more oil, fake meats. I sish I had some space for šomló halušky after main course, but no way! :D

Great pizza - Edit
Unfortunately I only had time for a pizza and the saladbar on my way to Sziget festival but the pizza was one of the best vegan ones I ever had. More than enough cheese, which is always the key and a fair amount of veggies. Nice salad bar. Should go back soon try more.

Large menu but not super healthy - Edit
As a lot of people have said, the menu has a lot of fake ‘meat’ and ‘cheese’ dishes and is pretty heavy and fried feeling.
Read moreBetween us we had the bean goulash and the sharing platter. The goulash was yummy though a little salty. The platter was enooooormous - said it served two and could easily have served four. It was various different seitan and tofu cutlets, with cabbage, potatoes, chips, rice, salad and sauces. We barely even made a dent in it as it was never ending and a bit too fried for our tastes.
I probably wouldn’t eat here again as it’s not really my style of food but if you’re looking for some hearty stodge it’ll do!
Pros: Big menu, Good service
Cons: Very heavy food, Wasteful portions
