Brought my mom here for her birthday lunch . The orange cycle cream cake was a great way to end the lunch. I had the Buffalo Chikn hoagie with fries the chikn/ cauliflower was perfectly breaded and the white drizzle idk what it was but it was soo good. My mom had the Nanas soul plate with ribs and extra beans as they had run out of the greens. It was very much to her liking as well.This was my first time trying Soul food and I’m happy it was here at Nanas Kitchen

My first visit I enjoyed the cauliflower tacos and they closely resembled the menu photo. However, every visit since has been a disappointment.
Read moreTo give some examples, one order had a yucky sauce on the side which had spilled and completely drenched the bread for the cheesesteak.
Another time I arrived a few minutes early to pick up a to go order. There were two couples ahead of me in line, but it was a 15 min wait. By that time, my food was cold. Two tacos were just the cauliflower and a runny green sauce, without the other toppings. The liquid (not sure what it was - not the sauce) had soaked completely thru one of the tortillas. The others were soggy.

I didn’t even get a picture of my food bc everything smelled so good I couldn’t stop myself from digging in. I got the Nana’s Soul Plate and Cookies & Cream shake. The plant-based ribs & BBQ sauce are delicious and their Mac and Cheese is to die for😄

I did enjoy the quick and filling comfort food from here. I am very impressed with their cauliflower wings. I got to try the three versions and they were great. The preparation of the cauliflower is very good for their dishes. Good Cajun seasoning amounts. For a comfortable, quick meal of comfort food, good choice.

The food is great, but that’s pretty much the only great thing about our experience. They have a tablet for you to order off of, which is fine, but it was our first time so we had some questions and wanted some recommendations, so not having someone readily available was disappointing. We also discovered that what they have on their menu above the order counter doesn’t match what is actually available to order via the tablet, so several of us had to find something else once we went to order. They have water available, but it doesn’t have ice so it is warm, and the cups are small plastic cups.
Read moreWhen the food came out any sides and sauces were in plastic to go containers and the silverware was plastic as well. They also only gave us a small piece of paper towel for a napkin, for the whole table.
I can tell they do a lot of carry out, and they seem to cater to that more so than dining in.

I’ve loved every dish I’ve tried there, but the Nana’s Soul plate is my favorite. The gumbo, burgers, and fries are excellent as well. Although the menu is modern for plant based palates, the vibe of the restaurant is nostalgic in a positive way.

A little place I didn’t even know existed! Decent amount of seating and lots of options, including dessert. Wait time was 10-15 mins, and my friend and I split the tacos and the bbq burger. The portion sizes were perfect and the food was amazing! The tacos were my favorite, with a crispy tortilla and yummy sauce. The sides of the burger were great too, and it all had a bit of a kick but nothing crazy. I will definitely be back.

Collard greens and ribs (made with jackfruit) were delicious. I only needed hot sauce (which they didn't have) to add to my greens. Baked beans? I've never had to have baked beans. But their baked beans???!! LAAAAWWWWD! How they get them beans like that? Never have I ever had such amazing freggin baked beans! And they know what they're doing, because they refuse to sell you a side order of baked beans. The only way to get them is to order the Nana's Soul plate or the BBQ Chicken sandwich. I've never eaten macaroni and cheese so I didn't eat theirs. My friend said it was ok.
I was supposed to get cornbread with this platter but they forgot it and only gave me the two extras that I paid for. Cornbread was fine.
BBQ Cauliflower- very good
Nashville Sweet Heat Katfish -
FIYAH!!!! The flavor is amazing! Def brought some heat with the spices too. Be advised that this dish is made with mushrooms. I do not like mushrooms but I ate this because the seasoning was just that extraordinary; it made me forget I was eating mushrooms for a second. This plate came with seasoned french fries, which were also delish.
Potato Salad - very good. More mustard based than mayo.
Chicken Sandwich- delicious!! I want another one!
BBQ Sandwich- just ok. Wouldn't order again.
Strawberry shake - 10/10!!
PEACH COBBLER - deserves a shout, stomp, praise dance, hallelujah, and an AMEN!
Aside from excellent food, the workers were all very nice. You order and pay self-serve at their Square kiosk, but they were available to answer any questions and/or to help if needed. I also loved the throwback jams playing on the radio and the TV: Martin was on one tele while Fresh Prince played on the other.
I hope they continue to grow and expand. The PHX area is blessed to have this one of its kind cuisine in the southwest. AND VEGAN TOO?! Get out!! Can't wait to go back!!!

For us, sadly, the food was underwhelming. We had hood rolls, fries, cauli wings and a box with beans, geeen, mac and cheese and chicken.
The chicken and beans were easy the highlight, well seasoned and tastwd great.
The patty on the fries was nice as well.
The hood rolls had a sweet aftertaste, which I personally liked (my partner didn't).
But both the mac and cheese and esp the collared greens could use more seasonings. The greens were very bland, not seasoned at all which was disappointing as I was looking forward to them.

I am lucky to live just 10 min away from Nana's Kitchen. Stopped by last night with hubby to get my favorite Crispy Chicken Sandwich fix and left SATISFIED...AS USUAL! Their fries are perfectly seasoned and crispy.

Make sure to come to this place hungry and ready to eat. This was some of the best vegan soul food I’ve eaten. The ribs were super tasty, loved the lemon pepper wangzs and the twisted corn on the cob was everything. I was only in town for a few days and would have definitely visited again if they were open on Monday.
