Was in a hurry so stopped on way to coach station. An extremely pleasant waiter sat me outside and took my order for a dessert. I was slightly disappointed the pancakes were only breakfast or brunch. He brought me water even though I said I didn't need a drink. The White chocolate tiramisu was outstanding. I will be back next time I am in town to sample a whole meal. I was able to pay immediately and the lovely waiter gave me a card impregnated with seeds. What a super idea

I've always been impressed with the food at Mildred but this has probably been my tastiest meal yet. The taste of Bengal menu is delicious, I loved the thali and the apricot cocktail I got. The wait staff were very friendly too. The arrancini were also delicious! I would say book in advance if you want to go in peak time.
Read moreI have also ordered off deliveroo and they often have deals. The mango burger was amazing (quite spicy) and I had the chocolate cake which was nice but not as sweet as I thought it would be and I thought the cream had a bit of an odd taste. Overall though, a fantastic restaurant.

A must visit if you're in London!! The pancakes were absolutely incredible, they are huge and so filling! The staff were really attentive and were nice enough to let us order from the breakfast menu at 11am even though that's when it ends. Can't wait to return and try the savoury breakfast and items from the lunch menu!

It's Mildreds, so you know the food and service are going to be great. But I'd like to give a 6th star, because of the really wonderful service we received. We had ordered some extra paratha (which are absolutely delicious), but staff had forgotten. This happens and they did their best to serve them as soon as possible, which solved the issue for us. However, staff decided not to charge the parathas at all, which I thought was really great customer service. I've been to plenty of restaurants with way worse service, where I always had to pay full price

Mildred’s is excellent! Me and my wife visited the Kings Cross branch recently for our anniversary so when we saw that the Victoria branch had opened and were offering 30% off for the first few weeks we couldn’t resist!
Read moreThis time we went with my wife’s parents (non-vegans). Me and my wife always share dishes so we can try more things and my mother-in-law also joined us in the sharing this time so we got to try even more! I would definitely recommend sharing dishes if you can at Mildred’s as they have so many different, creative dishes to try, all with their own unique flavours and textures.
For starters we went for the taktouka whipped mascarpone, charred aubergine bharta, za'atar padron peppers, arancini rosso and 2 paratha. It was a delicious mixture of flavours with my favourite being the arancini which had a lovely rich flavour and crispy coating. I also strongly recommend getting the paratha if you're having any of the dip style starters such as the mascarpone. The paratha has a lovely flaky texture and is delicious with or without the other starters! My mother-in-law was also a big fan of the aubergine bharta. My father-in-law also got the mango glazed corn ribs which were very spicy but he found very tasty.
For mains we got the shiitake tempeh dan dan noodles, mojo verde chick n skewers, salt & pepper tofu bokkeumbap and my father-in-law got the spinach pea aloo tikki burger. The bokkeumbap was a huge portion and was very tasty, especially the tofu which had a great texture. The skewers were also really good and I really like the texture of the chicken substitute they use. The noodles were also excellent with a lovely rich flavour. My father-in-law thought his burger tasted pretty good but said he felt it could have done with more crunchy texture as the patty was quite squishy. I did also think looking at his burger that the mains we got looked better, but I didn't try the burger myself.
For dessert we got the chocolate ganache layer cake, rum coconut sticky toffee and white chocolate tiramisu to share between the four of us. My favourite was the white chocolate tiramisu, which I've had at Mildred's before but this time was even better! It has a delicious taste and texture. The chocolate cake was also very tasty and rich, which I love. Also the salted caramel ice cream it comes with is delicious. The sticky toffee was also good although I preferred the other two desserts personally.
I also had the Sassy Rosé Cider to drink and it was so good!

Can't get over how great Mildreds is - Edit
The last time I went to Mildreds was back in the 80s when they just had their Soho Cafe. It was only veggie with 1 or 2 vegan options, probably just date slice for dessert. These days it's amazing, all vegan, very swanky and in lots of other locations across London. We called in for breakfast and it was awesome 👌. Well worth a visit.

Would Have Been a 5 - Edit
I knew the food would be good as have been coming to branches of Mildred's since about twenty years ago. We saw the selection of burgers on the menu and both went for one of them. I had the aloo tikka as I prefer a veg patty and it didn't disappoint, was a really nice fusion of flavours with a slight kick and an Indian style dipping sauce. I don't normally like the fake meat types but my partner's Korean chicken burger was equally good.
Read moreLike the other branches of Mildred's, the place is not that cosy because you are always very squished up to the other tables, however, the decor is very nice.
Our only disappointment was having to wait almost thirty minutes for a piece of fudge that we ordered for dessert. Wouldn't have normally minded but we were on limited time and when we questioned the staff about it, they were not that friendly. I could have understood if the dessert needed preparation but it was literally just a small piece of fudge that they eventually brought out as is.
Otherwise, would have definitely given a 5.

Misleading seating information - Edit
I tried to book a table online but there were no booking available but the message given online encourages you to come along stating that there will be plenty of walk-in tables available anyway. The host was unfriendly & stated it will be at least an hour wait for a table inside or sit outside. It was freezing outside but we’d travelled a long way and had no where to wait. She said we couldn’t wait at bar as people were already waiting. While eating out in the cold wind, several other people arrived saying that complaining that they had been told the same thing regarding the ability to walk in. Some decided to wait standing inside. To our surprise we saw that they were seated within 15-20 mins max. We would have been happy to wait 15-20 mins , but as everybody else were told it would be at least an hour wait. Pity because the food was good, but zero points for the hosting. It was an unfriendly & misleading . We had to eat as quickly as possible so that we could leave the wind outside was so cold. Apparently people were using the vouchers for 30% off which expired today which accounted for it being busier than normal but it wasn’t fair to be told to either wait an hour or sit out in the cold only to see other people who were also waiting without reservations being seated in the warm within 15-20 mins

In our visit to Mildred’s Victoria on 16th May 2024, we had:
Salsa macha hummus (which was beautifully creamy and the combination of flavours was to die for)
Charred aubergine Bharta (which had a great texture and tasted very lovely)
Both with fluffy pita and paratha
Then for mains I had the salt and pepper bokkeumbap which had soft and flavoursome rice and tofu cooked beautifully, my dad had the kiri hodi: a beautiful platter with gorgeous Sri Lankan flavours.
We finally treated ourselves to dessert:
Chocolate ganache layer cake which was gorgeously rich but not too sweet
And the rum coconut sticky toffee which honestly was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had: fruity flavours combined with the sweet warmth of the sticky toffee.
The experience was wonderful—thank you to the team at Mildred’s for such a great time.

Delicious, Stylish, and Conveniently Located - Edit
I love Mildreds and am really excited that one has opened right by Victoria Station. It is a 2 minute walk from the station, and very easy to find. I went on a Saturday around 6pm in the first week, and there were lots of spaces without a reservation. The design is very stylish and welcoming. The menu has fo many options. I struggled to choose, but went for a peanut based Thai curry with rice noodles. The portion was generous, and it was really delicious. I got an iced chai and rose tea, which was really refreshing. I got a creme brulee to take out, as I had a train to catch. The staff were really friendly and attentive. I really liked the atmosphere and look forward to visiting again soon!
