Incredible as always! - Edit
Mildred’s is consistently delicious and has food that is fresh and healthy. We had the soul bowl and Caribbean tofu which were both divine. This restaurant is a must for everyone!

Was okay - Edit
The place was packed with people, and therefore really noisy. The staff was efficient and food came kinda quick given how full it was, but they could have been a bit friendlier. Food was okay, I had the soul bowl and some fries. For what it was, it was pricy. While it wasnt a terrible experience, I would probably not go back there.

Not so great - Edit
I had great expectations about this place, but I did not get very excited about the food. Focaccia was good, dumplings tasty. The buffalo burger was good, not exceptional. I would not go back for their burger. The mushroom pie was a big disappointment, I expected it to be scrumptious, it was just decent. I can’t recommend this place in a city like London, where yummy vegan food is almost everywhere. The location has no windows and you eat next to other people, so not the best place to enjoy your meal. It’s pretty claustrophobic.

Even though it’s a vegetarian restaurant, nearly all options are vegan - maybe they could become fully vegan?! Love that it is opposite a meat restaurant (which was empty!)

I was really waiting to visit Mildred's since I found the cookbook some time ago on a vegan market in Warsaw, and it didn't disappoint me.
Read moreFirstly, there are so many deliciously looking positions in the menu, it was really hard to choose. We took halloumi with smoked chilli jam for the starter, I took Mexican burger with additional cheese and avocado and my boyfriend chose wood roasted mushroom and ale pie.
And it was amazing💗
I really loved the combination of halloumi and jam but the burger was a really perfect match of many different flavours. The coriander mayo was a bulls-eye!
I also tried the mushrooms and ale pie, which was great, but had a more uniform and determined taste. The mint peas were though something. My boyfriend loved it, I was happier with my burger, but both dishes were delicious.
All in all - GO THERE AND BE HAPPY!
Pros: Delicious food, Fantastic staff, Fast service, even while waiting for the table

I can never choose what to have! There are so many options and they all sound so good!! Everything I have had has been delicious and well worth the price. The menu is mostly vegan although there are a few vegetarian dishes. The bar serves lovely organic wines and does nice cocktails. There is no booking though so be prepared to wait and don’t go if you’re already starving, as it is always busy. The downstairs area is also very loud, although upstairs is very cosy and quiet.

Awesome caesar salad! Sweet potato fries tasted good, but weren't "fries" - more like slices of baked sweet potato. Vegan basil mayo that came with them was amazing!

We had vegan cheeseburgers and they tasted like posh tastier and healthier versions of Mac Donald’s. Service was great and we didn’t have to wait longer than 10 minutes for the food to arrive.

Just average - Edit
We decided to come to Mildred’s for dinner because it’s in Soho where we wanted to go. The foods are really mediocre if you compared to other vegan restaurants in other countries in Europe such as France and Spain, including our good old Los Angeles. The food were simply not flavorful enough. We ordered the mushroom pie which was decent but it comes with tons of fries, and the Katsu chicken curry is just simply deep fried with lack of flavor in it. The curry comes with rice which is OK and salad which did not come with dressing at all. We had to request for dressing. Overall it’s a 2.5 our of 5.

Hands-Down Best Meal in London! - Edit
I have been stalking Mildreds and planning my order since we booked our flights ten months prior to our trip. My husband and I went to the UK to celebrate our 10 year anniversary, timing our stay so that our actual anniversary day was spent in London proper with an upscale dinner at Mildred's in Soho.
Read moreThe thing about Mildred's is that there is often a very long wait, as they don't take reservations, and there is hardly any room to stand and gawk at the outcoming dishes. I'm here to tell you, it was worth every waiting minute.
We began our meal with the Grilled Artichoke Crostini, perfectly cooked artichoke hearts drizzled with lemon over chargrilled rustic bread. However, the star of the show was the labneh, a yogurt-based cheese that they have veganized. It was so creamy and fresh I nearly licked the plate! That and that alone would have been worth it!
For our entree's, I choose a Katsu Curry Chick'n, served with forbidden rice and sensible green vegetables. My husband enjoyed the burger, along with a sizeable serving of sweet potato fries.
While we waited, I was so excited and eager to be there that I chatted up the hostess after she kindly remarked on my sequined dress. Though Mildred's is upscale casual, that wasn't going to stop me from glamming up for our anniversary night! I told the hostess how much I had been looking forward to our dining there, and that it was our anniversary, and after we sat she brought us two glasses of bubbly as a bit of an anniversary gift! It was so very sweet of her!
Mildred's absolutely lives up to the hype. They are worth every bit of the street cred they get from vegans and carnie's alike, and my only complaint is that they are not in Las Vegas where we live. It was a life-changing dining experience!

Our favourite vegetarian restaurant in London - Edit
We have had 2 wonderful dinners at Mildred's. The menu is all vegetarian and many items are vegan. The service is very good. The atmosphere is busy and buzzy. The menu is varied. We particularly like the Asian influenced items. There is a good wine list. No reservations, unfortunately, but the busy bar is a good place to wait.

Soho staff too rude these days - Edit
My husband and I have been visiting Mildred's in Soho and King's Cross for years, but after the last two unpleasant visits in Soho, we decided that given the amount of good restaurants in Soho, we won't return to this location again. (If we return to Mildred's in future, it will only be to King's Cross, which is more beautiful and spacious anyway.) The staff in the Soho restaurant, especially the woman who I believe was the manager, were so rude and unfriendly on the last two occasions that we were actually left embarrassed as we had taken my foreign in-laws there as a treat, and instead were met with unfriendly staff and an insanely long wait for food. The appetizers arrived 35 minutes after we ordered. The mains arrived 30 minutes after the appetizers were cleared. We felt that maybe they were just having a bad day, but on a second visit six weeks later, we had a near identical experience. We've since enjoyed Pho and a few other vegan-friendly places nearby instead.

Nice food, off-putting vintage pornography - Edit
I know SoHo has a colorful history, but I’d rather not sit in a room lined with graphic and demeaning vintage paintings and photos of prostitutes when I’m dining with my young daughter. At our request, the staff moved us to a room that had just one topless lady and no spanking, bondage, or sex!
Read moreHaving set all that, the food was lovely. The main courses were a better value than the starters (6 pounds for 4 cubes of tofu!). The shared tables were less delightful. Most restaurants solve this problem tables that can be pushed together or apart.

Good but nothings special - Edit
I don't really get the hype around this place. I mean, it was so crowded that there was a waiting list to be seated. I got a coconutty mocktail which was very good, and then the sri lankan curry, which was just a curry. Good, but nothing special or outstanding. Not worth the wait.

A must visit for Vegans in London - Edit
This restaurant is pretty small and they dont do reservations so make sure you get there early or make some spare time to wait at the bar. But it is worth the effort.
Read moreWent for lunch and had the Polish Burger, which was pretty good but not spectacular.
But we also orders a bunch of small dishes, which were really great. Broccolli was perfectly cooked and really well dressed. Grilled artichokes were a surprise delight, complemented well with the creamy sauce they came with. I would reccommend the side dishes as to anyone who wants to try out lots of different things for a really good price.
Staff were a bit grumpy and the place can feel quite cramped and stressful, but as far as the food goes, its really a "must-eat-at" if you're ging to London.
Pros: Tasty and variable menu, Not overly pricey, Free water
Cons: Not great service, Cramped and loud atmosphere

Favourite restaurant in London - Edit
Definitely one of my favourite places in London. Gets very busy so best to go off peak times if you want to get in. Food is great and most of it is either vegan or can be made vegan. I do find the starters and desserts are a bit expensive and not particularly spectacular but the mains are really worth it. The curry and the ale pie are particularly nice, and very good portion sizes. Always leave very satisfied.
