Mildreds, established since 1988 and reported vegan in May 2021, operates several restaurants in London. Its changing menu offers British classics as well fusion meals, with example dishes like mushroom pie, Indian curry, lentil burger, tortilla chips and gucamole, burger with fries, waffles, vegan brownie with ice cream. This branch is small and gets crowded at rush hour so expect a wait. Open Mon-Sat 09:00-23:00, Sun 09:00-22:00.

Inventive, delicious vegan food - Edit
Fresh and delicious; we ate here for dinner. Mildred's is making vegetables the star without need for a ton of 'substitutes'. I ate the artichoke Caesar salad and my partner had the kimchi fried rice. We started with the whipped 'feta', and finished with the passionfruit cheesecake. All very enjoyable.

Amazing food and service - Edit
I think this is my new favourite restaurant in London! I came here on my birthday and had such a lovely experience:) the staff were so kind and very attentive and the food was some of the best I’ve tried in london, i neeeeed to go back. They also gave me a free slice of cake and sung happy birthday for me (was a bit embarrassed but it was still so so sweet of them) overall had an amazing experience!!!!

Disappointing first visit - Edit
Went with the intention of having brunch, but I arrived just after 11 o'clock and missed the brunch menu. Despite my preference for a light first meal, I decided to dine in as I was already there. Opting for the kiri hodi, I found it excessively spicy without much flavor beyond the heat. Disappointingly, I couldn't enjoy the dish and blamed myself for the choice, ended up not eating any of it. After a short stay drinking my tea, I considered leaving to find an alternative. When I asked to remove the optional service fee due to not consuming the meal, the waitstaff appeared bothered. The dish was already on the pricey side for something I didn't eat. Unfortunately, I overheard them discussing my situation as I headed to the bathroom, which left a rude impression. Also the atmosphere was marred by overcrowding and closely spaced tables, which makes the experience less enjoyable.

Really Impressive, if Expensive - Edit
I made a reservation about 45 minutes early, and good thing since it was packed (I did have to wait 10 minutes regardless)! Tons of people waiting by 8pm. The restaurant has a super funny setup, it’s like a maze with all the staircases and dining rooms. The serving staff was super nice, offering suggestions and being quite helpful.
Read moreMy main and cocktail came out together about 10-15 minutes after ordering. The lychee rose martini was delicious, quite sweet but I didn’t mind. My (insert Korean dish here) of tofu and fried kimchi fice was great! The tofu especially, I was deeply impressed with the flavor and crispy texture. The kimchi rice, although not super flavorful, was spicy and had a nice variety of veggies.
Overall a great experience! The cocktail was priced pretty typically, but the main dish did feel a little small for the price. I will try to return before I leave London!

Service was amazing, and the host placed us upstairs by the open window on a hot evening. Food was delicious - how do they make the whipped feta?! So glad I ordered the paratha to scoop up my feta from the plate. I could just set up a sleeping bag in the kitchen and live here.

Go for breakfast/brunch! The “classic brunch” dish was delicious, as were the blueberry pancakes, and peach/raspberry mimosa. The classic brunch has all the items of a traditional English breakfast.
Read moreThe Soho location is very cute and the staff was friendly. The bottoms of the benches have outlets, which is nice if you’re a traveler using your phone for everything.
I do recommend making a reservation as they get quite busy, and may not be able to accommodate walk-in.
This was hands down the best meal of my trip to London!

The food was delicious, I really liked it. My review is mostly based on the atmosphere in the restaurant. I was visiting for a catch up with a friend but it was very hard to talk as it was so loud that one needed to shout entire time. To many tables are squeezed in a small place, people keep kicking your chair when passing by, waiter's buttocks

Mildred's is such a great vegan restaurant. Lovely venue, friendly staff and great food. Each time we've been it's been a good experience. There's a few of them now around London and if this is a 'chain' then it's a fine example to the rest of them. We'll definitely be going back again.

I’ve been to the Kings Cross branch and was blown away by the food, ambience and service so decided to try another Mildreds this time. I managed to get a table at the Soho restaurant even though it was very busy. Firstly, the tables are so close together you feel like you’re sitting on the next diners knee and your part of their conversation! I don’t mind cosy and intimate spaces but this was something else. You couldn’t sit down without the fear you were going to clear the neighbours tables! It’s also really noisy as a result of so many people being in a relatively small space. There is further seating upstairs and this looked marginally better.
Read moreI ordered the Tortellini which arrived pretty promptly but was cold. I asked one of the servers whether it should be served cold or not, they stated twice it should be a cold dish. Odd I thought as I’ve never had this dish cold before. But not wanting to be distrusting and instead blaming myself for making the wrong choice, I proceeded to eat a rather unpleasant dish leaving the very cold sauce and the hard leeks. Imagine my disappointment when I call another branch with the same menu who tell me it should be served hot! Really not cool that some of the servers think it’s ok to lie to customers 👎
The crème brûlée for dessert was nice as was the mocktail. The toilets however were in a dreadful state, paper all over the floor and flooded with water. Not sure how often they are checked and cleaned, but clearly not enough. Sadly wouldn’t return but it wouldn’t put me off from trying other Mildreds.

A stalwart for a reason - Edit
Having been once before, I wanted to show my non-vegan companion how superb plant-based eating can be. Mildreds absolutely blew him away and I think may have even convinced him to come to the green side! Service, food, choice, atmosphere... all sublime. The tiramisu deserves its own mention- I was nearly moved to tears. Utter indulgent perfection. We will return!

Mildred's has been a institution of delicious plant based food in London the Covent garden restaurant is no exception.

The food was exceptional at Mildred’s. In terms of portion size, favour and wow factor, It doesn’t get much better than this. My favourite dish was the whipped feta. Delectable.
Read moreThe two downfalls were the price and the wait time. Firstly. An average dish was about 15 pounds - roughly 30 AUD. This is overpriced for what it was. Secondly, we waited about 40 minutes in between our entree and mains.
If either the wait time or price were better than what they were, Mildred’s would have received 5 stars. So, it’s gotta be 4 stars from niki_nine

Read moreWe came for breakfast and were just a few minutes over the time they switch for lunch - so appreciate that the kitchen still let us have from the breakfast set.
Tufu bun was very good, as were the corn patties. The guacamole on the side was disappointing, so you can skip that. Cesar salad from the lunch menu highly recommended.
