We risked walking in at 5pm on a Saturday and they managed to fit us at the bar. They were so busy! The staff were all lovely and the bar staff actually took our drinks order. We didn't wait long to place our food order and our starter was super speedy. Our waitress apologised for the wait on our mains but it wasn't necessary. And our dessert was fast too. The food was delicious, very vegetable heavy which I love. Presentation perfect. Desserts massive.

The prices may be quite steep (expect £25 per person for food alone), but it rarely disappoints, and the constantly changing menu means there’s always something new to explore. Currently on the menu, love the tortelloni, the whipped feta, and the Korean burger.

Don't love the new menu as much! - Edit
I've been going to Mildred's for years and the food is always amazing, but I do feel like every time they update their menu it's not as good as the last! The mango burger was good, but left me longing for the old crispy duck sandwich from years ago. Still, delicious as always, I just wish they didn't switch up the entire menu every time I visit!

I had dinner with my niece on March 20. The place was crowded but our meals were served right away. Nice vibe, very friendly waiter, good size portions (ex. 6 gyozas for our shared starter), very tasty food and a nice range of dishes.

I’ve been to Mildreds 3 or 4 times, different branches, and always had good food..but tonight’s meal was really disappointing. I had the tempeh noodle dish and it just wasn’t interesting at all and didn’t have much flavour..it was just..ok..and I want more than just ok when I spend £16 on a meal. My friend had the sausage and mash, she enjoyed it but the portion was tiny..like really small..she ended up ordering chips cos she was still hungry.

Stellar food! Took my dad (non-vege) and even he was impressed! The nachos are otherworldly, the cheese is phenomenal! Kiri Hodi is my number 1 item! He had the bangers and mash and was very impressed! If I'm choosing to go anywhere for a meal, it's Mildred's, make sure you book in advance!

Came here for our anniversary and the food was just yummy. He had the Hoi Sin Duk burger and I had the Hot Mango Pepper Chicken burger. Both were yummy but I think his was nicer!! Only downside I would say was the price - almost £17 is a lot for a burger! Either way, definitely would recommend this restaurant and I think we’ll be coming back

Expected more of a vegan restaurant chain that has been around for that long.
Read moreThe burger had super little greens and vegetables in it.
The curry had green beans in it that weren't fully cooked. The waitress arranged for that to be fully refunded so wee were happy with the service as my friend had already eaten the whole meal before we notified them.
The fries were great, also the lemonades (value-money debatable), my friend loved the ice cream.

Wish I could come back soon - Edit
Only in town for a day, was told I need to come here - and my only regret is that I can only try one starter and a main since I’m in my own this time. Will *definitely* come back next time I’m in town, and will tell others to come here. Food is different, delicious and inspiring. Service is super friendly. What more is there to ask?

We visited Mildred's without prior booking on Chinese New Year and in front of the restaurant large masses of people. Luckily we still got a table as they have another room downstairs.
Read moreWe had the Bangers & Mash, the Korean fried chicken (note: bun = burger) and the Kiri Hodi. They were all good, the burger was the highlight of the bunch. One thing worth mentioning is the aioli sauce which was to die for. If you're there order it as a dip!
The tiramisu, patatas bravas and spinach gyoza were alright but nothing amazing.

Cons: Side dishes were kind of boring

Three versions of brunch plate: classic (English), Mexican and Indian. I chose the Almuerzo (Mexican) Brunch, which features tofu scramble, corn fritters, whipped avocado, black-bean mole, salsa, greens and blue-corn tortillas. All of it was tasty and satisfying. I had a lovely, homemade, lemon-rose spritzer and took away the sticky toffee pudding with sauce and cream. Delicious meal.

Next time I visited, with friends, three of us really enjoyed the Cumberland sausage & mash meal. Comfort food. The fourth friend liked the curry dish. The crème brûlée and truffles were well liked too.
