Home cooked goodness with zero waste

Stopped by on the way to our hostel on Gili Air. Nicely presented little place with free water refills (not always easy on the Gilis). Nothing too fancy, had a couple of wraps and juices. I had an iced coffee. The wraps were held in banana leaves and were made from scratch. Delicious, nuticious and exactly what we needed. The owners were nice too.
Only criticism was the toilet. Bit of a hole in the floor, but I'm not here to rate it on its toilets.

Pros: All vegan, zero waste, healthy, home cooking, Crazy cheap, Mixed fruit juices

Cons: Toilets

Good Food but not Hygienic

It was overall very good experience . Food is displayed very well and it tastes great. Super nutritious ! However, I did notice a previous review about hygiene and when I went to pay I saw the kitchen area , it really is not so clean. Also my partner was very sick after eating the raw food here and had to get an IV drip because he picked up such bad bacteria , so maybe the food / water is not good. If you go I suggest getting dishes that are cooked and not raw. The food is really good but they could improve their cleanliness.

Pros: All vegan , Displayed very creatively , Very nutritious and cheap

Cons: Not very clean and hygienic

Great food

The menu is small but what they do have, they do well. Plus they offer free water refills.

Good vegan food

The food was very good and the staff very friendly but I felt the kitchen was a bit unsanitary. The same person touching cash is the one who cooks. The bathroom was a squat toilet with no toilet paper or soap to clean hands. Not sure if it was meant for costumers but if that’s what the staff use their hands are not very clean. I’m not usually a bacteria-phobe but while visiting Bali/Gili for 2 weeks I got food poisoning twice (not from this restaurant though).

Pros: All Vegan as of Jan 2019, Friendly Staff

Cons: Not a clean, safe kitchen, Squat Toilet, Cash Only

Fresh Food & Kind Staff

Visited Hello Lumbung while in Gili Air and had their Smokey tofu, tempeh, beans, and stir fried veggies wrap. It was fresh and tasty. The Fusion sauce that comes on the side is really tasty. The women who were working were sweet and kind.

Earnest restaurant

Only vegan only restaurant in town, with nice selection of 'fusion' food including spinach pesto, tortillas (my favorite), burger, falafel options and salads. Good sized portions and great prices! Spinach noodles and pesto were a bit salty, but homemade tortilla was delicious and well balanced.

Pros: All vegan. Price. Homemade tortillas. Very local.

Cons: A bit salty.

Nice cheap food all vegan

We ate here quite a bit during our stay, the food is nice, very cheap too. Pesto noodles Are nice, curry was okay sauce was a bit thin. Tortilla wraps are fresh made but the filling not always the best as the salad and veggies are limited, like the tofu Tempe wrap came with just tomato and sweetcorn in addition to the tofu/Tempe, they use sprouted beans in the wraps too which I’m not too fond of. The burger bun was a little stale, the Tempe burger was a falafel burger with side of Tempe, nice apart from the bun. Really like the fusion sauce too, and the smoothies are lovely, I had one nearly every day. Would recommend eating here, the price is so cheap, the staff are lovely.

Pros: Cheap, Lots of options , Free refill on water

Cons: No dessert option , Limited vegetables/salad in wraps

Amazing vegan food, went back loads!

What an amazing place for delicious vegan food. Very cheap for the kind of food and portions you get. Super friendly people that were always so smiley and you can refill water bottles for free. Even when there were power outages they were able to make delicious food. Great menu with Indonesian and international dishes. There pesto is incredible, so is the rest of the menu.

Pros: All vegan, cheap, filling portions.

Cons: Nothing!

Big tasty food for good money

Small warung near the main road. We ordered grandmother‘s noodles and the indonesian curry with jackfruit, tempeh, tofu, and vegetables. Both were delicious and freshly prepared. Water can be refilled for free. Take away is possible. We didn‘t have the wrap but could see that it‘s big and looked delicious too. If you search for a place for good vegan food for good money for an easy dinner, this place is worth a visit.

Pros: Big portions, Good price, Fresh food

Perfect little vegan haven

Seems to be the only fully vegan place on Gili Air, so that was my first choice on my first day here, and it's amazing! Filling, tasty meals, some gazebos with cushions to chill and digest, the sweetest family making everything from scratch (they said they're all vegan too, apart from the littlest daughter).

Pros: Huge portions, all homemade, all vegan!

Cons: No fresh coconut on the menu! 😀

AMAZING BURRITO

So the burritos/wraps/tacos are the best here in the street personally they’re quite big and packed with a lot of flavour
However the curry lacked a lil flavour
And the noodle soup was pretty much inedible it didn’t taste very nice
But still giving for 4/5 for the burritos! Definitely try the Smokey tofu
Beautiful garden that you can eat and relax whilst waiting for your food that has cushions and hammocks
Friendly staff and all vegan

Delicious Food Prepared with Heart

We enjoyed an exceptional dinner here. The owner and her daughter were so sweet to us. Everything on the menu was vegan, including the amazing homemade spinach noodles in an Indonesian style pesto sauce. Also enjoyed tempeh and tofu with their homemade Asian sauce for dipping as an appetizer. Great locally owned place. Very inexpensive so portions are not large. Order accordingly.

Pros: Homemade Spinach Noodles, Inexpensive, Locally Owned

Good vegan food!

The food, I had a falafel burrito, was tasty and good (Falafel, grilled eggplant, tomatoes, cabbage). As it is a warung don’t expect luxurious seating, therefore it is cheap. In Gili Air scale it is 5 stars (lots of restaurants in Gili Air call themselves vegan, but staff doesn’t know what that means), but not comparable to other 5-star-restaurants around the world.

Not a vegan restuarant

We went here thinking it was a vegan restuarant, allthough they serve fish and chicken. We asked what it was made from thinking it was a substitute but said it was actually fish and chicken. Not sure why you would state it's a vegan kitchen if you serve meat and animal products, food was ok but not great.

Pros: Falafel was ok, Staff was friendly

Cons: Serves meat, Doesn't fully understand what "vegan" means

Good food for cheap price

We went thinking this was a vegan restaurant and they did tell us ‘all is vegan’ but it has been changed on happy cow. Our food was vegan and was good but not amazing.

Good food but not entirely vegan

So this place has 2 non vegan products on the menu, fish burrito and chicken something. Just wanted to clear that up, other wise i had a fresh juice in the morning which was nice and theybhad bamboo straws so no plastic! I also had the fried green noodle which is a homemade spinach noddle with a pesto sauce and cabbage with some small green vegetable I don't know. Well that one meal was a 10/10 I would recommend that. I didn't get the chance to try anything else there but the green noodle was amazing!

Pros: Most items are vegam

Cons: 2 nonvegan items on a restaurant classified Vegan

Amazing fresh food!

Great local warung with 7 vegan options. I had the falafal wrap, it was so tasty! My partner had the Tempe and tofu wrap, he loved his choice too. The wrap comes with homemade fries and is very reasonably priced. Highly recommend a visit to this place, the food is fresh and flavoursome.

Pros: 7 vegan options
