But sadly the wrap wasn't very good.
I had jackfruit and falafel in my wrap…
The falafel was nice.
But the jackfruit tasted really weird and bitter.
And overall.
It was CRAVING some Vegan mayo, or yogurt dip.
As the cashew tahini sauce that came with it was bland and too runny.
The staff were lovely.
But I don't think I would eat there again.

We came for the Wrap - Edit
We came here for the wrap and it hasn‘t disappoint. Nice Tofu/Tempeh crunch and the homemade pita bread was good. It came was purple sweet potato fries which was also very cool. My partner had the sweet potato burger and it also had a good crunch. Nothing special but would go again.

I went last night and had the tofu/tempe yellow curry and it was genuinely amazing, tasted sooo good, absolutely massive portion that I couldn’t finish despite being starving when I got there, and it was so so cheap! Place looks a little bit dodge ngl and my bf warned me not to go to the toilet there haha, but trust me it’s worth the visit!

Food was grand and price was ok! But the place is very dirty outside, all the outdoor furniture was quite dusty! They only take cash and they’re not fully vegan anymore! They’re selling m*at now.

I was really disappointed with my jackfruit burger and ‘hummus’ - the jackfruit was tough and not cooked properly, the ‘hummus’ was runny and watery, and the cassava fries were so dry! I’m such a foodie it’s unheard of for me to not enjoy a meal, but it was awful. However, my boyfriend’s pesto noodles were really good, so I guess it depends what you order - steer clear of the burger!

We ate here twice and the food was great. The atmosphere isn't quite as nice as the other vegan places on the island, but it is way less expensive. They have a hand washing sink right as you enter the restaurant. The place is clean, nice looking and serves great food at a fair price.

It pains me to leave a bad review on a fully vegan place but I was extremely sick after eating here and after reading a few other reviews it sounds like other people had a similar experience. I suffered from gastroenteritis the next day which is caught from someone preparing food after using the toilet and not washing their hands. The toilet facilities were pretty basic and there were no hand washing facilities and as everywhere else i had eaten was pretty ‘safe’ I can only assume it was this place. The food was ok, maybe a little bland but very cheap. Only go if you have an iron stomach!

Mama’s garden is away from the touristy area and run by a local family who uses recipes from their grandmother. I really wanted to enjoy the food more, however, it’s prepared with the most minimal cooking techniques and so the flavors and textures are pretty neutral.
Read moreI ordered the veggie rice wrap and the curry. The portions are very generous, twice the size as you’d expect from a warung and at half the price of the Bule places. The family is very friendly and the food fresh. Come here if you want to support a local family, but maybe somewhere else if you’re willing to spend more on more memorable food.

Amazing food and really affordable. We came here twice because it was so good. Both times my husband and I shared the rice paper rolls and each got a chickpea falafel wrap with chips. Everything was packed full of flavour and so fresh tasting, one of the best things I’ve had while in Indonesia.

One of the only 100% vegan places on the island, in addituin to Juju. Great menu and varity, value for money as portions as very generous. We tried the jackfruit burger, super yummu pesto pasta and falafel wrap. Will never leave you hungry 🌱🌱🌱 you can sit in the restaurant or in the berhga garden next to it for more lazy vibes.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed. Cute place and nice staff, but too many things went less than good. While the curry and noodles were good (not too special though), the mango Smoothie was not good, the glasses dirty and the seating uncomfortable(rocky and unstable, less room for legs).
Read moreI will also note that this restaurant is located just in front of the local mosque, so during dinnertime you will have the daily prayer very close to you, so much that it is hard to talk together at times. I write this is as worthy of note for those who are looking for a quiet evening.
Pros: Small but not crowded, Homey feel
Cons: Mango Smoothie was not good , (fairly loud prayers just behind the restaurant) , Glasses were dirty and Seating is uncomfortable

Some of the tastiest food we’ve had on our holiday! Mama’s kitchen is a very small restaurant (like blink and you’d miss it small) but it is definitely worth a trip! The food was incredible and you could tell everything was being cooked fresh. The staff were lovely and the food was ridiculously cheap - we ended up paying almost double because it was definitely worth more than they charge for it. Definitely visit if you can - the tempeh curry in particular was incredible
