Best food in the Fox Valley

Update: the owner is sincerely dedicated to adding more vegan options. He just introduced two vegan drinks: Rose milk and pistachio milk, made with oat or almond milk!

Since discovering this restaurant, I've been there nearly every week, getting new dishes each time. The staff is incredible, and with every dish vegetarian, and all but a handful naturally vegan, they are very knowledgeable about dietary restrictions. Don't be afraid to ask questions. They even have a vegan dessert (a personal favorite). I would also recommend asking for the veg Manchurian dosa, it's a special that's not listed on the menu, but it's amazing!

So good and super friendly staff

I went here with my dad and we spent a long time looking at the menu before asking the worker what he suggested. He told us to get the masala dosa. My dad got that and I opted for a more spicer dosa. They were insanely good. Was not expecting them to be that big. We also got an order or samosas, which were pretty good. The only con was the wait- it probably took closer to an hour for our food to arrive, which was weird because there was only like two other groups. And they serve the food on single use disposable plates, which is kind of disappointing.

First time at Madras

We had the South Indian Thali, North Indian Thali and Veg Manchurian. Everything was super flavorful and delicious! We will definitely be back.

Pros: Amazing friendly service, Extensive vegan and vegetarian menu, Delicious food

Cons: Disposable silverware

Not For Me

The saving grace was the woman working the counter ~~ she was sweet. The food, location/interior/exterior, arguing in the back kitchen; it's a huge NO for me. We tried at least 5 different dishes (the most popular veganized ones per Google reviews) My husband and I definitely left unhappy especially since we each spent over $25.

Pros: Vegan options, Woman working counter was clear and concise , Something different in the Valley

Cons: Unseasoned, bland, tasteless, uninspiring food, Interior/Exterior , Just a strange experience

SO. MANY. VEGAN. OPTIONS.

I just visited Madras for the first time and I WILL be back!! The whole menu is vegetarian, but most of the menu is also vegan. The family that owns the restaurant was incredibly helpful in identifying what was vegan and explaining the dishes. I can't say enough good things. My favorite dishes that my party ordered were the samosa, masala vada, and the Chole Bhature (daily special). Excellent service and incredible food!

Pros: Great service , Food was so delicious , Restaurant was super cute

Cons: Dishes were disposable for eat-in dining

Amazing South Indian Cuisine!

Madras is a consistent café that supplies delicious food especially for vegans. I can’t even count how many times I’ve been there but it’s amazing every time!

My personal favorite is the Onion Rava Masala Dosa & the samosas!

Pros: Samosas, Dosas , Puliyodharai

Cons: None!
