STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION! My family and I were in town for a proposal ceremony and staying at a wonderful B&B on this street. We took a stroll down the street to see the "love tree." We were walking along the sidewalk/street and stopped to admire the tree. We had not yet crossed the threshold to the driveway of this cafe when a man dressed as Indiana Jones got up close in our faces and asked if we were part of a tour group. At first, we were surprised and thought he was joking, especially given the way he was dressed. We told him no and stated we were just looking at the tree. He announced himself as the owner of this property and demanded we "get off his property." Again, we were on a public sidewalk/public street. When my son, an attorney, voiced our rights to be on the sidewalk this man aggressively shoved my son and then hit him in the face, which led to my son defending himself. The owner of this establishment pulled a gun and pointed it at my son's head (thankfully, it was a prop; however, at the time, we had no way of knowing this). My other son attempted to aid my son who was being attacked when several members of the owner's group joined the fight. We were too shocked to do anything other than to try to defend ourselves and it was only when my sons had managed to subdue their aggressors (these people were crazy) that they, the attackers, summoned the police. Again, we were casually strolling along and enjoying ourselves and events of the day when the owner of this cafe attacked us. I guess this man thinks he owns the rights to a public sidewalk and public street because they are close to his beloved tree.
Small, 3 table room in antique store. It took awhile to be noticed but the food was good. We had veggie burrito - really a soft taco and the veggie wrap. The burrito came with nothing but the wrap came with some fritos. The smoothie was good so overall we were happy with the meal
This quaint cafe is located in an antique shop and offers limited seating. It is a peaceful place to have a light lunch. The menu consists of sandwiches with a few vegetarian options. Also, the hummus appetizer is very good. The stand out features of my visit to The Love Tree were the "award winning" brownies and the shopkeeper, Elaine. The peanut butter brownie was truly award winning! Heated, it was an ooey gooey delicious treat! Elaine was very accomodating making all food fresh in the tiny kitchen. This was a very nice and simple lunch spot for a rainy day.
