Lovely hidden spot

What a lovely gem hidden away by a village green. Very friendly and chatty staff. There are vegan items on the menu and also a selection of vegan bakery items. The place itself is cosy with tables both inside and out and plenty of parking. Wouldn't hesitate to go again, loved everything about it.

Pros: homemade vegan cakes

Cons: none

Very friendly staff and fresh food

Vegetarian and Vegan friendly restaurant hidden in suburbia. The staff were very friendly, as were the owners who we met whilst there and they were really keen to hear our feedback. The manager is vegan so has a large amount of input into the menu and what is available. Two milk options for nicely made coffee, amazing vegan and gluten free brunch options and I even had cake for the first time in ages! No complaints.

Pros: Open to suggestions , Family friendly

Need to go back - chef on vacation

This is a mixed review. 1) This is awesome that they are serving vegan options as choice is limited in the area and I'll keep coming back to support that initiative 2) The owner came over to each table and asked how things were and the table service was friendly and environment outside pleasant.

The cons can hopefully be changed as I want to keep going back! I went in ready to order my vegan cake and was told that "oh we don't have any as our vegan chef is on holiday - but we have gluten free, can you eat that?". I appreciate that many people really don't understand what constitutes a vegan diet, but if you are making the effort to highlight the food on your menu then a little education to the staff would be really helpful. It leaves you in an awkward situation of needing to explain your diet in front of a waiting queue. In the end I ordered a soy hot chocolate, which on subsequent asking was found to have milk powder in it.

This would be a great place if 1) Please consider a coverage plan when your sole chef who can cook vegan food/cakes has a vacation, 2) please educate your staff on what a vegan diet is so mistakes don't happen and the dismissive attitude doesn't come across as strongly.

Pros: Environment outside , Vegan chef

Cons: Staff unaware of vegan food/dismissive, Call ahead if they have vegan cakes that day

Brilliant vegan cakes in a lovely location - highly recommended

We had so much choice of vegan cakes this afternoon - peanut butter and chocolate layer cake, lemon cake, fruit tart with option of coconut cream, vegan scones with currants (also available as a vegan cream tea) and there was also a vegan banana and something slice. Also choice of soya, almond or coconut milk in coffee or tea.

I really enjoyed the peanut butter choc cake, very good sponge and good flavour, highly recommended. Also the lemon cake was very good. They will be doing other cake flavours, vegan cheesecakes etc.

The staff could not have been friendlier and included the lovely Indie who bakes the vegan delicious cakes.

They have mostly vegan breakfast options, not sure what time they stop serving those. Hopefully if there is demand they will have more lunch options soon but at present there is a humous sandwich on offer.

The location is lovely, overlooking the green with outside seating and parking is easy (and free).

This is also a small deli and post office so a brilliantly convenient place to stop for refreshments and pick up some fresh bread when you're posting a parcel etc!

Pros: Fab vegan cakes, good choice, interesting flavours, Good coffee, vegan breakfast options, Lovely location on the green, tables outside

Cons: None
