A little taste of Mexico - Edit
Very friendly little Mexican food outlet. We ordered the burrito and taco box for just under a tenner. The burrito and tacos, which came with a few tortillas were tasty and good value for money but personally they just needed a bit more spice and 'kick'. The little dishes of guacamole and jalapeños were a treat though. I would certainly visit again.

Generous portions - Edit
Most menu items have a vegan variation you can get, with cheese and sauce subs. Big portions for not a bad price and cozy atmosphere without feeling squished. Great place to stop!

Best vegan Mexican burrito - Edit
I never order vegan burritos in the US after getting so many filled with too much rice and little else. But the one here was fantastic- a wide variety of veggies, with a bit of guac, tomatoes and beans. The tortilla was good too - not too thick and nicely toasted. Def 5 star for this entree. 12 CHF and it’s huge.

5* food and service - Edit
If I could give a 5* I would. The food was delicious! And the service was wonderful. At first we were reluctant to pay extra for vegan cheese (massive pet hate of ours when you're charged extra for vegan products, or if you have the dairy products removed and they charge you the same), however, the extra £2 for the vegan cheese was well worth it after the owner came and spoke to us and explained that it's homemade with a special recipe. Honestly one of the best vegan cheeses we've had. He could easily make a business making this alone!
Read moreWe had the vegan nachos to share for a starter, then a quesadilla and burrito. Very tasty and I love how they ask your required spice level.
The staff were friendly and attentive. The owner was incredibly helpful and I loved his passion for his food.
100% recommend and I can't wait to return!!!

Lovely vegan friendly spot!! - Edit
Lovely staff - willing to veganise almost the entire lunch/dinner menu. I had quesadillas with beans and vegan cheese. Cocktails delicious too. Option for cacao with fruit for dessert but I was too full! Juice bar looked great too but had sold out of juices by the time we got there. Would love to try the nachos next time!

Review from July 2023 - Edit
I was here in July 2023 (and didn’t leave a review at the time), but it’s a place I haven’t forgotten. After a day of exploring Hadrian‘s Wall, we spontaneously decided to take a look around Hexham and came across Little Mexico. It is the best Mexican restaurant I have found in Europe! So how cool is it that they make everything as a vegan option?
Read moreWe had tacos made from fresh corn tortillas and sinfully delicious vegan nachos (seconds were ordered, it was so good). Too bad I really don’t have a reason to make the long trip back.

Friendly - Edit
Very friendly staff who understands veganism. Ate here as part of a bigger group on a Friday evening in December. We had the nachos and then the tacos, which included cactus. A side dish of plantain that by mistake had sour cream on it was quickly replaced and apologised for. Juices and cocktails all v nice too.

Great knowledge, good options and will also tweak things to suit - Edit
To start we had a sharer dish of home made nachos with guacamole, salsa, black beans etc. Really tasty. Then for main I had a special called ‘hearty vegan burrito’ which was beans, sweetcorn etc (no rice) parcelled up inside Savoy cabbage leaf and fried. It came with a side salad which included edible cactus - a first for me!
Read moreI also had a Mexican coffee which came with vanilla, spices, and a choice of Chaga or Lion’s Mane mushrooms. My other half had a similar sounding hot chocolate made with coconut milk which was really delicious.
There were other options, as well as fresh juices and proper smoothies, with superfoods like cacao and maca. There were alternative milks and the chap really knew about vegan requirements. Really friendly too. Great place.

Authentic and Tasty - Edit
Impressive little place just off Hexham market place, full of vibrant colours and Mexican themes. I even watched authentic Mexican wrestling whilst waiting for my order on the TV behind the serving counter. Going vegan is very easy here by eliminating the cheese and sour cream from your meal. My burrito was packed to the brim with rice and fresh vegetables including XL sized beans . I also opted for extra guacamole which brought the contents to near tipping point. Was it tasty? Yes, very much so. A hugely enjoyable burrito priced at £5 plus an extra 80p for the guacamole. I am absolutely sure to be back.
