I wanted to give Lila 5 stars but it’s not recognized as a vegan restaurant. That’s too bad because there are so many vegan plant based options to choose from.

Best Vegan Cheese Burger in SRQ - Edit
My go to homemade burger. I remove the tomato and ask for tahini instead of the thousand Island. Delicious! In a perfect world, the bun wouldn’t fall apart so easily. It is truly made in house.

Loved the Penne Vodka - Edit
Very good Penne Vodka with Cashew Ricotta. The Penne were cooked on point, fluffy with a bit of a bite and the Sauce was very creamy. Also, the plate was big and I was hungry. The Wine was also very good, as was the Cappuccino with oat milk afterwards (they also have Almondmilk). Will come back for sure!

Beautiful romantic upscale place is nearly all vegan with a few options for carnivores. This worked out well for my friend and me, and she loved all the things we tried. I have got to attempt making rice tots. Great wine list too. We liked it so much that we did a delivery a few days later, and it was amazingly fast. Very creative sushi. And we took home the blueberry cheesecake, so decadent. What a lovely downtown Sarasota has.

Lila Restaurant on Main Street is a real find! Cozy atmosphere, helpful staff, and a convenient menu. I found a wide selection of organic vegetarian and vegan dishes! The Lila salad is a simply amazing combination of greens, vegetables, dressing, and an incredible seed cracker! They also have plenty of options for non-vegetarians, so it would be great to come back with friends next time!

Read moreMenu is mostly vegetarian/vegan, but dishes are clearly labelled Vegan. Many locally sourced and organic ingredients. The seitan chicken sandwich is great, as are the many bowls options. Their several unique vegan sushi rolls are probably my favorite - but is hard to pick one! The staff are always great. Would give five stars if Happy Cow didn't reserve that rating for restaurants that are wholly plant-based.

Delicious Mostly Vegan Dinner Options - Edit
Lila has a perfect number of vegan options with several non-vegan options that seem ethically sourced. All the appetizers, sushi and salads on the dinner menu are vegan, 4/8 of the warm options are vegan. I had the rice tots as an appetizer and the mushroom burger as the main. I thought the rice tots were delicious, both the accompanying sauces provided a unique flavor and options for preference. The mushroom burger was also great, though I was glad I request thousand island dressing on the side because I don’t believe that was the ideal sauce option. I would have recommended a vegan garlic aioli instead. The mushroom burger is made of oyster mushrooms, so a more elevated composition from what you might receive from the grocery store.
Read moreThe one downside of the restaurant was the price point, I feel it was slightly higher than what was justified for what you received. From what we’ve all experienced of the farmers market, oyster mushrooms aren’t cheap but the rice tots as well were a bit much for some fried rice. That being said, it’s also located in downtown Sarasota so what can you expect.

Amazing selection of vegan options and enough non vegan options to keep the meat addicted members of the party happy. Ordered the mushroom burger and the crispy crab roll to split with my non vegan grandmother and we both fell in love. Was told by one of the chicken orderers that they'd order the crispy crab roll if they ever came back- so would I! Finished with the chocolate tart which was also quite good.

Best restaurant in Sarasota - Edit
Food is made from scratch and so yummy. I love the staff, service is great. This is my favorite restaurant to dine at. The wine selection is also very good and selected with care. They offer tasting menus for Valentine’s Day and new years as well that we love to attend. I would give it a five star if I could.

Absolutely amazing food with quite a few options for vegans, vegetarians and pescatarians. They are mindful of portions sizes and are thoughtful in their drink selections. I had the gnocchi sharable plate as an appetizer. It is good size for two. The mushroom bundle with risotto is comfort food that I couldn't stop eating. The Burmese Noodle Bowl was flavorful and served some heat. Service was super friendly! The overall experience was very comfortable with a touch of modern.

Some real gems on this menu - highly recommend all of the Japanese inspired dishes. I could eat the mushroom spider roll and the caterpillar roll every day! I love tofu, but the tofu app was bland (gotta cut this one smaller or marinate it) and the Brussels app was undercooked (not sure how the kitchen missed that one, we could tell as soon as it was dropped). Entrees and dessert were all hits 👍🏼

We vacationed in siesta key where there weren’t many vegan options, but went out to Sarasota one night to try Lila- wow were we impressed! The menu is mostly vegan but had about 3-5 non-vegan options if you are dining out with meat eaters. There was a large variety of different cuisines. My favorite dishes were the mushroom burger and the vegan sushi. So many amazing looking options, can’t wait to eat here again!

Super nice staff. Waitress was great even when serving a large party of us. She was very attentive and organized. Food was Delicious! I just had the Romain salad a gluten free bread on my last visit, but everyone I was with enjoyed all different vegan dishes and loved them. Everything is house made including dressings and sauces.

Read moreWe started with some sharing plates, which were delicious. The dragon tofu was my favourite. We also had the yam wedges and ‘crab cakes’, which were also really good.
I had a BBQ tofu sushi roll to follow which was ok, it wasn’t very flavourful and it was pretty small. I wouldn’t order it again. My husband had the Med bowl, which he enjoyed but probably wouldn’t eat again.
I’m definitely a fan of the sharing plates and would stick to ordering those on our next visit. Really great restaurant though!
