The Vol au Vent was good and filling

Another user recommended this place to try a vegan take on Belgian/French cuisine and it was an enjoyable meal. It was nice to see a vegan section of the menu, however there were no vegan appetizers or desserts as far as I could tell.

Pros: The ambiance seemed authentic, The service was A-tier, Good portion sizes

Cons: Vegan appetizers and desserts are missing

Weinig effectief vegan

Cons: Droog, weinig smaak, Vegan opties enkel m brood, frieten nt plantaardig, Niet alles beschikbaar

Good effort but let s improve

I appreciate so much that such a traditional place (=all animal based dishes) has a section with vegan option. I also appreciate that those options are not just salad but a veganized version of Belgian dishes. That being said: vol au vent was actually very good. The stoemp in my opinion was very small portion for 23 euros. It would be very nice if they could add a dessert options too.

Scary

My partner and I were in the neighbourhood so we planned to have lunch there.
However, when we saw that it's a traditional meat place (there's a big sign advertising about them serving horse meat!? I didn't even know it was still a thing!???)
We opened the door and the smell convinced us to go look for another place (so we went and got a marinara in a random pizzeria, which imo felt better and safer.)

Cons: fries are not vegan, sorry but , belgian specialities, like boulets or vol au vent , have to be served with belgian fries

Very nice experience !

The vegan options are exceptional ! You get to eat traditional Belgian dishes adapted to vegan diets AND the waitor really put my friend who has Celiac disease at ease with the gluten free options :)

Overrated

Not really impressed by this restaurant. I had the meatballs in tomato sauce as a second choice, as the stoemp/sausage was not available during the summer (stoemp = mashed potatoes with vegetables, so it makes no sense). A few meatballs that really looked like the ones you buy at the supermarket served with a very simple tomato sauce and that was it. The fries (usually served with all dishes) are half-cooked in animal fat so I had bread instead (served with butter). All this for 21€. Also, I went with two people who ate mussels and both were sick afterwards.

Cons: ~1% of the menu is vegan, for a belgian restaurant the beers menu is sad, prices

Did they automatically serve bread or did you have to request it instead of fries?

Very tasty but slow service and small portion

We had the vegan stoemp and sausage, they told us they couldn’t offer a half portion for our 3-year old, so he would have to share ours. Unfortunately they didn’t warn us that the portion was small, so we were still hungry after eating. The price seemed quite high (20 euros) for our small portions, we expected more. Our meat-eating friends had large portions for a similar price. Waited about 45 minutes for our food (they were busy, but they could have warned us it would take so long…)

Very surprised

There are 4-5 Vegan options. The stoemp was so good! And the vegan sausage coming with it was really nice.

The Vol au Vegan was a bit too salty to my taste.
