Unique and tasty food - Edit

We love the tofu here. It’s maybe our favorite restaurant tofu ever. It’s lightly battered and has great flavor. We call this place Chipotle meets Hawaiian. We like having lunch there.

Pros: Price, Tofu, Flavor

Cute place, decent food. - Edit

I have a problem and it is that I always want Mexican food. I will always search for Mexican restaurants that will cater to vegans. This place is one of them. They have a menu where they have chosen options and the ability to create your own meal. Two of the provided options are vegan and you can make your own meal as well. I had a burrito bowl and it was awesome. I would compare this to a higher end Chipotle, for sure.

Really disappointed - Edit

The menu here sounded great, so we ordered the Lettuce Wrap Tofu Tacos, and a cheese quesadilla. The meat eaters in our group ordered the tilapia tacos and were disappointed at the lack of flavor aside from spice. Unfortunately, the food did not taste like the description: the tofu was deep fried and although it came with a ginger-soy sauce, I couldn't taste it. The taco just tasted of fried tofu and pineapple salsa. Even after adding lime (which I got from the optional sides near the napkins) and stealing some pico de gallo from the quesadilla plate and adding that to my taco, there was still little flavor.

We arrived about 5pm and a handful of people were dining on the patio. Due to the heat, we wanted to eat inside and while waiting for our food, someone started taking down the seats for the inside seating. The "condiments" (lime, onions, etc) were put out after our food arrived. There were no trash bags during our entire visit, nor bags in the recycle bin, so the earlier diners were just stacking their dishes and trash above the cans. As we were leaving, an employee came and put a bag in the trash and then threw the glass bottles and cans into the trash instead of the recycle, so we took our bottle and can home to recycle. I got the sense that they were doing their opening up tasks but they clearly had been open for a while.

I appreciate that they have veggie options, but as the taste is not there and I'm paying a premium for tacos, we won't be back. The staff also struggled with my request for a cheese quesadilla; I asked how much it would be as it wasn't on the menu and was told that the cost depended on what kind of meat I wanted. After repeating two more times that I only wanted cheese, she put the order through. Entrees average $8.

Pros: Veggie options

Cons: Bland food
