Nice lunch option. - Edit
My vegan lunch (Mixe of vegetables with rice) was very pleasant for sure. The menu is a bit confusing and could offer more vegan options but we definately had a great time there.

Loved La Zucca - Edit
Our lunch was excellent, really great little place. Loads of vegan options and friendly staff who were very happy to help. The food was some of the best we had in Venice.

Very good food - Edit
They don't have labelled vegan options, but the waiter knew what was vegan and what was not.

Popular place for seasonal eats - Edit
Call ahead to make a reservation, especially if you want to sit outside, because this place is very popular. When we went we were initially turned away because we didn’t have a reservation but then we asked again and were advised if we wait and someone leaves we could sit but they didn’t take our name so after a few couples left we went up again and they seated us inside (easier to get a table inside than out).
Read moreThe menu is in Italian so we had to look up some items we didn’t know. Although there is a symbol for dishes that contain dairy (most), there were also some that didn’t have the symbol but mentioned cheese - such as mozzarella - in the description and to my knowledge they don’t have vegan cheese so that was confusing. Quite a few items had meat or eggs as well, so we ended up just ordering an antipasti and multiple sides. All the vegetables were yummy and seemed fresh. I enjoyed the food, I just wished there was a vegan bolognese or lasagne I could’ve dove into, and even a torta (no vegan desserts). Food was on the more expensive side, which I would’ve been fine with if it was a nice main dish or multi course meal, but a bit disappointing since it was basically sides. Did seem quality though.
Pros: Healthy options, Seasonal menu, Fast service
Cons: Popular so hard to get in, No English on menu, No vegan main dishes

Amazing vegan sides - Edit
I just ordered a side of tagliatelle with olive oil, a side of fried eggplant without feta, and a side of beans with lime avocado. Delicious, filling and only 12 euros.

Great for vegetarians (and not only) - Edit
If you are veg*an i found It quite difficult to eat good food in Venice: the other restaurants offer more or less only expensive tomato spaghetti, as they are specialized in fish. Instead la zucca, even though not entirely vegetarian, offer lots of vegetable dishes made with love. Go there, you Will Be Happy! Prices are also ok. I would Like to give 5 stars but the maximum for Happy cow rules Is 4

Creative cuisine - Edit
Although, I am vegan I still love going to La Zucca (the pumpkin) where the speciality is, of course, pumpkin.
Read moreOn my last visit I had a mixed vegetable dish, a delicious raspberry sorbet and very good wine.
If you want to eat in an authentic restaurant (not created for tourists) and drink really good local wines La Zucca is the place for you.
Remember that it is extremely popular with the locals and well informed tourists so booking is essential. Not many tables inside and even less outdoor.
If you arrive by boat you can enter directly from the canal!
Pros: Authentic restaurant , Nice view of the canal, Good food & super wine
Cons: Can be expensive , Limited sitting space, Often fully booked
