Order the huarache! - Edit
First dinner in GDL. Scoped out La Garnacha Vegana which kept popping up in GDL’s best lists. Totally agree, just on their huaraches alone. Huaraches are slipper-shaped blue corn tortillas topped with mashed beans and toppings. You have three options: get one large (Maya), two medium (Aztec), or one medium. Recommend going with the Aztec to share or if you’re a hungry solo; it’ll let you try out the different toppings/guisos. What we tried:
Read more- Jamaica - most popular, caramelized, flavor and texture goes really well with the blue corn. If you don’t like floral or all-spice flavor, best to get another option
- Asada soya
- Coliflor
- Potatoes
Also recommend the enchiladas, verde or rojo, also with your choice of guisos, the chips and guac, and always the agua del dia. For dessert, they have two stuffed pastries, one with chocolate and the other with a carrot compote filling.
The space is small with four tables that fits about 8-10 people, ran by two very friendly ladies. Say hello to Tete (sp); she’ll take care of you. So good, I had my last dinner here as well.
Pros: Friendly staff

Enchiladas 4 and gorditas 3 and 2 drinks 280 pesos
I thought the gorditas were great, the enchiladas were a little bland and could have had more filling for there price but sauce was good and presentation was great
Pros: All vegan traditional Mexican , Staff were great , Drinks delicious
Cons: Bit more pricey than we’ve had in Mexico so far

This is one of the best vegan places I have eaten. I enjoyed eating their enmoladas and huaraches. They also had delicious agua de Jamaica y agua de melon con vainilla.

I ordered the gorditas with three different fillings. The picadillo and chorizo (I think) were very flavourful! The lady was very friendly, and presentation was wonderful!

Outstanding! - Edit
I stumbled upon this gem on a recent visit to Guadalajara. It is tiny…three tables I think…but if it is filled it is worth the wait. Lizette and her mom Maria Esther make and serve their exquisite food with love. There is a keen understanding of tastes and textures in their offerings, and anyone, regardless of their food preferences, would be wowed. Unfortunately, I cannot say exactly what we ate. We were hampered by language issues so we asked them to choose. Honestly, best food I’ve eaten in a long time.

Wholesome vibes and fresh food - Edit
Big fan ! I ate here twice and enjoyed it thoroughly. The two women who run it are absolutely gorgeous, kind and thoughtful, a beautiful mother/daughter pair. They're so friendly and the food is really fresh and delicious, something I have sincerely missed since arriving in Mexico. They do lots of different, authentic Mexican dishes that I hadn't been able to try yet so I really appreciate it! I had the huraches and the gorditas, you can pick from a big list of fillings to put in so it's different every time! There are some fake meats but I went with cactus, Jamaican flowers, potato's... the list goes on. Really big fan and wish I could eat again soon!

La Garnacha Vegana review from a Vegan Mexican - Edit
The place is great, especially for foreigners who want a taste of authentic Mexican food that is made completely vegan, you can decide to choose from various "guisados" (prepared plant meat/stew) so you can definitely mix and match to your liking. It's very pretty, maybe just a bit small, but worth it, one of my top favorite vegan restaurants in Guadalajara!

We stopped by only for breakfast to take out and I wish we’d had time to come back for more. We got the bean quesadillas & I’m not sure which vegan cheese they’re using but it was delicious!

Unreal food made with love - Edit
This place is a gem! First things first the owner is incredible. She makes you feel right at home. She recommended the huaraches so we got the huarache grande and had her choose our stew/filling. She gave us two, chicharrón and papamaica, both were great. We also order enfrijoladas with asada, again amazing. Food was incredible, big portions and really cheap!

Deliciousa!! - Edit
I had an excellent dining experience at La Garnacha. The food took a little time to come, but it was more than well worth the wait because it was all freshly prepared and was absolutely delicious. The Hauraches were so good. As were the Gorditas. It's a small and unassuming place but is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Very delicious little gem - Edit
We’re visiting here from California and found this restaurant and went for dinner. It was a very unique experience with ingredients we wouldn’t expect to shine like they did. I ordered the Barbacoa flavored Jamaica gordita and it was my favorite!
Read moreWe also ordered gorditas made with rajas, asada and queso con cebolla. All really good. We also had our pozole de zetas (mushroom pozole) and enfrijoladas. They had a salsa made with chile de arbol and Jamaica which had a really good flavor as well. They owner was very friendly and she made us some of that salsa to order. We definitely recommend this awesome vegan option in Guadalajara.

Best Food In The City - Edit
This tiny semi enclosed restaurant is the best in Guadalajara. You might want to try this restaurant before it gets bigger which I predict. The owner runs the entire show. She is a fantastic chef and host! She makes traditional Mexican dishes vegan, and she does it better than anyone. The enchiladas, huaraches, Pozole , quesadillas. Wow. She takes 20 minutes to prepare your meal from scratch, and if you order for a small group, it would take longer. There are just two four seater tables.

Their orders are huge - don’t try to order like in a regular restaurante. Most items are fried, tasty and all food is traditionally Mexican. Prices are great and because the place is small I recommend to try alternate hours.
