Superb food and such lovely people - Edit
A fabulous variety of freshly made salads. Wonderful warm quiches and dessert heaven. All you can eat, but this is France, so I ate moderately.

A bit limited if you're vegan - Edit
Good homemade food and an excellent vegetarian buffet.
Read moreThey have 5 buffet sections: salads (which also include hummus, legumes, toasted bread, different vegetables...), soups, quiches, daily dishes, and desserts. The price varies depending on how many sections you choose.
Although everything was very good and the service was friendly, I think the vegan options are quite limited. There were 4 types of quiches but only one was vegan. For desserts, there were only 3 vegan options (brownie, apple crumble, and fruit salad) and also, not everything is clearly labeled in the salad section.
I think it should be the other way around, with almost everything being vegan, so that everyone has more options.
But it's still a very good place.
Pros: Very tasty homemade food, The price is affordable
Cons: Need more vegan options, most are vegetarian

Excellent food at bargain price. - Edit
An amazing buffet with lots of well made vegan choices. Coming for the happy hour between 15h and 18 h (3 to 6) is the best deal in town.

Very generous 4-stars. This place is flawed. - Edit
Food is okay. Some nice flavours, nothing exceptional.
Read moreThe biggest problem is this doesn't have to be vegetarian. Could be fully vegan and vegetarian people would still visit. There are too many salad dishes with cheese in next to vegan dishes. Unnecessary. 3 vegetarian quiches with 1 vegan quiche (the most popular one)
No potatoes/chips and not refilled.
As we know vegetarians may as well eat meat as animals die in the process of dairy production. This place needs to be braver and take a lead. It would pay off.

Decent Food - Edit
This restaurant was okay. The food was fresh and there was a good selection of vegan items, although you have to read the ingredient labels on each dish to know what is vegan. Many of the items on the salad and dessert bars include dairy. On the tarte bar there is one vegan option, which was tasty. The dessert bar included a basic fruit salad plus vegan brownies that were not too sweet. The salad bar included several composed salads plus some greens and plain lentils. The biggest selling point for this place is that there are so few good vegan options in Toulouse. In another town with better choices, this one would not be on my list, but in this case I was grateful to be able to eat here twice.

Cute little restaurant in a nice corner in the middle of town. There's a nice buffet, with soup, main dish, salad bar and desserts. Vegan desserts are limited. Food is decent.

A welcome find - Edit
France still lags behind Spain (let alone the UK or Italy) for both the abundance of vegetarian and vegan restaurants and the epicurean pleasure of the meal itself, so La Faim des Haricots was a welcome find. We had the buffet, which involved several return trips, and great Breton farmer's cider.

Fantastic place - Edit
Most of the food here is actually already vegan, just some of the desserts contained dairy. The food was so delicious & really good value. I tried the Dahl which was so tasty, and the brownie for dessert was so good I had so many pieces!!! The cereal covered chocolate was so perfectly creamy and crunchy. Definitely a gem in Toulouse

We really enjoyed the Buffet at La faim des Haricots. Especially the salad buffet was great. Vegan options are clearly marked. The prices are decent. Also, compared to other buffets I've been to, it never looked messy.

We went here basel on happycow reviews and were all but disappointed.
Read moreWe took the sans soucis option so we had unlimited use of all buffets, a choice of beer or cider and tea or coffee, all for onder 20 euro.
The saladbuffet was fresh and large, wide variety of tastes and textures.
The dish of the day was rice and vegetables. Tasted great, but not so good as the piebuffet (4 varieties).
The dessert included strawberry-tiramisu, caramelflan, icecream, brownies, fresh fruit and more.
Would absolutely recommend and return when in Toulouse again.
Pros: Great variety, Nice flavours, fresh, Low price, Nice people offering great service
Cons: Dish of the day could have been warmer

Amazing salads, tasty curries, ok desserts - Edit
The restaurant is buffet-based. You can choose from up to five different buffets, and build your own plate out of each of them (all-you-can-eat). You pay a base price around 13€ for the first buffet. Each additional buffet costs 1€ extra. I like the concept.
Read moreThe salad buffet is the one I liked the best. The sauces were really tasty and cared for the salads never getting boring.
The curries were also quite good. From the desserts I really liked the crème brûlée, but the cakes were meh.
