wow i entered this place and it felt so magical, what a lovely and cozy atmosphere! my dream cafe! the bubbles waffles were delicious and i loved the chestnut butter!

Today was a set menu brunch. No trouble to make it vegan, replacing the egg with avocado and including a vegan waffle, chocolate spread and hot chocolate. The atmosphere is cozy, especially in the second room.

I often go there for the snack-time (goûter) and there is always something vegan and delicious. For example, bubble waffles, « banorable »… also the vegan milkshakes are delicious.

La citronnade est un lieu incroyable à Besançon. Un lieu hors du temps, paisible et agréable. Les deux gérant.e.s sont très gentils, et organisent beaucoup d'événements tous très intéressants et variés. La nourriture est très, très bonne, et les boissons également. C'est le lieu de prédilection à Besançon !

La Citronnade was the only place where we could get vegen food in the afternoon in Besançon. We had two "milkshakes" which were delicious, and some food which was nice too (really nice rice salad, and some toasts with spreads). The desserts were pretty good too. The place looks great, it's very colourful, there is a "no shoe" area with lots of pillows, a "give away" table and books lying around. The guy behind the counter was really friendly, and the prices really decent. We will come back if we stop by Besançon again, keep up the good work!😄

We went to La citronnade for the well-known Sunday brunch.

I was first disappointed because I booked the brunch without asking for a vegan menu and could not eat some dishes, my mistake.
The vegan brunch was good and freshly prepared. I had a banana-peanut-chocolate oat porridge, fresh fruits, a banana milkshake, baked beans and banana-peanut butter toasts. It also offers vegan hot and cold drinks (soya and rice milks, without an extra price !).
The staff is very friendly and the place in itself is amazing. When you entered the restaurant, you have to take off your shoes to sit on the oriental carpets and cushions... The place is so cosy, you feel as you were almost at home !
Have also a look at the conferences, workshops etc. that are taking place since the place is also a "cultures coffee".
I recommend you to book before since the restaurant is often full (especially on Sunday). There are small as well as big tables. The place also is very kid-friendly.
I will come back for the place and some very good vegan desserts such as the chocolate panacotta and the drinks (maybe not the brunch that was good but nothing exceptional).
