Kung Tak Lam - WTC, Hong Kong - Edit

They don't verify everything they sell is vegetarian. I've nothing to add to this Worst Restaurant Award:-

I'd rate places like this at zero or negative if happycow would let me

Cons: No rigour on the detail of vegetarianism

Very unpleasant experience - Edit

We felt very unwelcome at this restaurant. Beyond this, the food was mediocre and we paid more for this meal than any other we've had while we've been here in China (we've been here four weeks and have eaten wonderful vegetarian meals in other cities). Very disappointing. I do not normally leave negative reviews but this did not seem like just someone having a bad day; this restaurant failed in all areas.

Lovely food with a view - Edit

Really nice restaurant on the 10th floor of the World Trade Center in causeway bay. Had an awesome view. We came here after arriving and it was really close to our hostel. We only ordered the fried noodles with mixed veg and sweet and sour pork. It was a really tasty meal. We are definitely going to back to try out the dim sum for lunch. Nice place, friendly staff. Would definitely recommend!

Nice but bright - Edit

Had a great dinner here with friends - very interesting food.
Unfortunately it was incredibly busy and the noise that everyone made combined with the very bright lights made it less relaxing then I would have liked. ie. perhaps not a place for a romantic dinner!

Consistent quality - Edit

I'd eaten several times at their TST location before coming here for the first time. Both of them offer harbor views, but the one in TST seemed more spacious, tables less cramped. Food was just as good, service was a little better. Don't be surprised if there's just a few diners there when you visit, apparently they get really busy only on those typical dates (like the 1st and 15th in each Chinese lunar month) when many buddhists go veg.

Very good food - not that cheap but who cares! - Edit

Unusually a large restaurant, always full with local residents. Very unusual food, mock meats but that seems to be a buddhist thing. Most veggie restaurants we have been to in Asia seems to be a place to eat and go. This is more like an evening out. Wine is expensive

Pros: An evening out, Nice restaurant, Good food

Cons: Not that cheap

Food very nice - bit pricy - Edit

We have been here (in the WTC location) on 11/7/2009. The place is easy to find and has a good view on the HK Harbour. Staff is friendly and helpful and there is a lot of variety on the menu (both regular Chinese veg dishes as well as Dim-Sum).
It's not one of the cheaper restaurants: the bill for soup, 2 dishes, rice and a small desert (for 2) was about HKD 300.

Pros: Food, Staff

Cons: Pricy

My Own Personal Heaven - Edit

This is my first experience with restaurant style vegan Chinese food and I loved it. I took all my friends each week for seven weeks in a row. The english speaking waiters are a plus. The serving of food can be slow on some of the occasions of gone, but they staff are great to point out new items and describe any item. You MUST try the sweet and sour pork and the stuffed sesame pockets. Also, the mountain mushrooms and spicy mushrooms are fab! The best part is that the food is not greasy and the place is clean. MMM...Yummy!

Pros: Waitstaff, Cleanliness, FOOD

Cons: Air-con, Delayed Meals, No Delivery

Easy access - right next to the tram lines - Edit

Well - I have eaten the perhaps 5 times this year & each meal has been enjoyable - it is run purely as a business by non-veggies & serves well cooked / fairly well presented dishes - very convenient if you are hungry & in Causeway Bay - if you are looking for a really nice restaurant the branch at 1 Peking Rd, Kowloon has pretty much the same menu / same prices in a far nicer setting. Dishes containing eggs clearly shown. Often full in the early evenings - best to book if you have a group of people.

Pros: Clean, Spacious, Varied menu

Cons: Often very busy, Often too noisy for my, liking - birthday parties

Mildly disappointing... - Edit

I tend to agree with Isabelle's review below. There's nothing "wrong' with this place, and the setting and atmosphere had us excited when we went in. Four dishes later, we were less excited and less wealthy. The food is certainly satisfactory, but our chicken dish was very poor, and the others - while better - hardly generated any excitement. A mediocre experience start to finish.

Pros: clean, attractive setting

Cons: average food
