Great food and good value - Edit
Was really excited to try the food here due to the Hungarian dishes offered.
Read moreWe started with the fries, vegetables and dips which were really nice although a few more fries would have been good!
We then shared the cottage cheese pasta along with the seitan stew with nokedli.
Really enjoyed the food although the nokedli appeared to be unseasoned so we had to add our own salt. It was all really delicious though.
We then had some of the cakes available which were also good along with a shot of palinka which was way more alcoholic than we expected!

Cozy atmosphere and delicious food! - Edit
This restaurant is located on a cozy street in the basement of a building (with the entrance accessible from the street), with multiple steps down to enter. There was quite a bit of seating compared to many vegan restaurants. We ordered the bean goulash soup (the favorite item of the night!), dipping plate with fries, bean burger (very soft texture, turned into almost a refried-bean texture as the meal progressed, but good flavor), cottage cheese pasta, and spaghetti bolognese. We also ordered the Witch white wine, a local option, which was a huge hit even with the non-wine lover in our group. It was fun to try some local, "veganized" dishes. The staff was helpful and friendly. Our entire order was GF and vegan.

Hongaarse keuken vegan - Edit
Je zou er bijna voorbij lopen, de ingang is smal. Je gaat via een trap naar beneden en daar kom je in een typisch Hongaars ingericht restaurant.
Read moreWij aten hier een seitan stew met pasta en ovengebakte groenten met friet. Beide lekker. Fijn om weer even groenten te eten.

Hungarian fare with a vegan twist - Edit
We were after some Hungarian cuisine so were really pleased to find this cosy laid-back restaurant, offering vegan versions of traditional dishes. Between three of us, we shared the bean goulash, seitan stew and cottage cheese pasta. The goulash was very tasty! The latter two were served with a dumpling type of pasta, like spätzle. The cottage cheese one was a little lacking in flavour for me personally. I'd recommend the seitan stew as it was much saucier and the seitan was melt in the mouth good! We made room for some desserts from the cabinet - the chocolate layer cake was a little heavy for me but the custard cake was incredible! I would definitely visit again and try some of their other dishes in the future.

good but not amazing - Edit
I wanted to try original hungarian cuisine (vegan ofc) and for getting the vibe and the culture, the place is very nice.
Read morewhat was missing for 5/5 was: the gulash soup had „only“ tofu and no seiten and the gyros was a lil low on spices. but the dip and the potstoes were very good.
so yes good, but not amazing :)!

Disappointing - Edit
We got the seasonal tofu burger, the roasted vegetables plate with rice, and the seitan plate. The tofu burger tasted good but it wasn’t solid and chunks kept falling out the bun. The roasted vegetables plate was really bland and vegetables seemed boiled rather than oven roasted. It came with a very bland and weirdly thick sauce. The seitan plate had long rubbery strips of seitan with an unappetizing texture. The elderflower and lavender drinks were good. Maybe we ordered the wrong things but not worth a visit based on my experience.

We went there two times and the food was delicious both times. Especially the mushroom burger and the seasonal special (this time an aspargus risotto) were amazing. Great service and prices too.

Family-run restaurant serving Hungarian food - Edit
The vegan restaurant is family-run by mother and daughter. They serve traditional Hungarian food such as goulash and also curry dishes. It is located in a cellar nearby the center. We can fully recommend having dinner there.

Comfort food downstairs - Edit
This spot does a great job veganizing classic Hungarian dishes. But this time, I tried the Gyros Plate - visually appealing, but not as flavorful as I had hoped.
Read moreOn previous visits (last time in 2019), I had their burgers, Goulash, and Seitan Stew, various desserts all of which were solid choices. The service is always friendly, the prices are fair, and the atmosphere is calm.
