Heel ruim vegan restaurant in centrum Gent. Bediening vriendelijk. Je kan ook ‘s middags kiezen uit ontbijtkaart en zo je ideale lunch samen stellen. In de superette kan je nadien ook avondeten kopen.

Read moreThey have a vegan English breakfast that is quite nice, though not the portion I would have liked. 1 single tomato 🥲. The tofu scramble toast (a separate dish, but also some tofu scramble is served with the english breakfast) is a huge portion though, and absolutely goddamn amazing. Honestly a fantastic portion size, delicious flavor, perfect egg scramble texture, some toast and some hot sauce with it, just perfect.
It’s a lovely space, does get quite warm when the sun is on the big window. Food is delicious, though not the flavors you would expect. The stoverij does not taste like what I expect stoverij to taste like, but if you let go of that idea, it tastes good. Prices are on the higher end. Friendly service

We went here for lunch with our baby. Ordering was with a QR code which was very easy. We had the lasagna and the sweet potato soup with sourdough bread. They both tasted very good. The kambucha is also a recommendation. Just before the toilets is a place to change small children which is quite handy.

Read moreIt was super busy but the super friendly host managed to give us a table. Some tables only seemed to have small stools which didn't seem very comfortable but we were lucky and got another table. We needed to order through QR code and everything came in a timely matter, especially for how busy it was. Everything was delicious.
The shop has a nice assortment of products. Really nice to see the zero waste options as well (options for oil, grains, pasta's, vegetables, coffee etc). They also have a nice selection of vegan replacement products like cheese and meats. I took a couple of them home as they were brands I never tried before. They were quite expensive though..

Cons: Partly uncomfortable seating, QR ordering means you have to pay ahead

Vegan restaurant (and store), with fresh, healthy and delicious food. We had the tofu scramble and the lasagne, both were great. Definitely worth a visit when you're in Ghent!

I went for a small lunch at noon on a shopup Sunday. There were a few free tables, so I thought they were quite busy. Ordered through qr-code and got my lunch quite quickly, drinks even quicker. The Club Samdwich was amazing, I don't know what the 'bacon' is made from, but it's so crispy and tasty!

The place itself is not that cosy, but that's just my opinion
The superette part is really fun to browse and has some things that are not that easy to find in other shops (first time I found liquid smoke). There is also a counter where you can buy dishes to take home; They looked delicious

This is the sort of place that makes me glad I don’t live in Belgium…because I would spend too much money here! I grabbed a pain au chocolat on my visit with an oat latte. The service and vibe of the place is friendly and cosy. The shop is also a great spot to find gifts.

It’s a place where you could stay all day long, buying groceries, having lunch, drinking coffee or doing some remote work. I basically did stay there until they closed :”)
Read moreThe moment I stepped into this beautiful light-flooded place, I got warmly welcomed by the staff. Everybody there has been so laidback and kind, checking on the costumers at all times!
To order and see the menu I needed to scan the QR code on the table, so they could directly bring the order to one’s table without having to interact with a waiter. Cool idea, but at the same time you need to directly pay online and it somehow didn’t work to connect to PayPal, so I needed to get my credit card details which consumed some time before I could even place the order.
Nevertheless they’ve been extremely fast and the special Club Sandwich that I ordered was undoubtedly one of the best sandwiches I ever had! Good food, but also a bit pricey.
They also have many plugs around and free Wifi, so working on my laptop for some hours hasn’t been any problem. Even when closing time arrived they didn’t make any pressure on me to pack my things and leave - really sweet staff I need to say it again!😄

I've been coming here since it was still BEO markt, it's just been getting better and better. It's a gorgeous place to sit and relax, there's so many delicious dishes on the menu and the coffee is great. Plus you can find rare ingredients and cook books to make the most amazing vegan dishes.

Refreshing options on the menu - Edit
For lunch, I had the Flemish stew dish called 'stoverij'. Usually served with fries, here it came with creamy mashed potatoes and some apple sauce. A must try, I have to say. As much as meateaters love the non-vegan version of this dish, the vegan version they serve here comes really close to the original. Vegan dishes shouldn't always try to copy meat dishes, I know, but unfortunately a lot of people still want to see some meatlike food on their plate. Take those people here et voila... the work is done! :)

Cozy place with friendly owners that know their stuff. Everything is vegan. Tried the club sandwich and it was the most delicious sandwich I’ve ever had. The “stoverij” (a classic in Ghent!) is also very good. I found the food rather expensive, but this is partly due to vegan ingredients being more expensive, and the portions are pretty filling.

Favorite spot! - Edit
I'm not sure what I like the most. The friendly people, the yummie (and still healthy-feeling) food or the airy and light space. It's all great, and they even partner up to offer meals and hot drinks to people who can't afford them. I'm a big fan. And for those who care mostly about the meals: the lasagna, the stew and the carrot cake were delightful (and quite filling!). I'll be back.
