Serves meat, vegan options available. Very limited vegan choices but in a remote area with little else around. Lunch menu has a taro veggie burger that is vegan but some of the house made buns are not vegan, be sure to ask server for vegan bun. Dinner menu has a Thai red curry with crispy tofu and crispy Brussels sprouts that are vegan. Kitchen staff is knowledgeable of vegan food and willing to make sweet potato gnocchi dish vegan by using olive oil instead of butter and adding more veggies and removing the seafood. Vegans can also order a side of cooked veggies and salad with no cheese. Reservations recommended. Open Mon-Fri 7:30am-9:00pm, Sat 7:30am-2:00pm, Sun 7:30am-9:00pm.

When nothing else is available…

It’s great that they’ve got a vegan dish clearly marked on the menu, but the crispy tofu comes drenched in a sweet chili sauce that seems intended for dipping, not drowning. I felt a little queasy after finishing most of the dish, but it cost so much I felt I had to. My vegetarian fiancé had the risotto, which is marked vegetarian, and found it pretty bland.

Pros: Clearly marked options, Volcano doesn’t have many choices

Cons: Vegan dish is sickly sweet due to sauce, Vegetarian dish was bland, Prices are high (like all of Volcano)

Inedible

Made reservations for dinner. My husband the omnivore had their fish dish and said it was good but not amazing. I had the one vegan dish, “crispy tofu”, and it was inedible. The tofu was extremely salty. The tofu was swimming in a pool of the “sweet chili paste glaze” with a bit of raw kale that was used more like a garnish. There was a scoop of dry rice that was in the middle of the super sweet moat of sauce. For $31, I expected at least edible food.

This was not it.

If I were in any larger town/city I would have sent this dish back. I never send food back. I didn’t complain about it because it was Volcano. I didn’t want to be one of those [censored] tourists. I tried to mellow out the extreme salt and sweet with the dry rice but I would have needed 3 more scoops of rice to make a difference.

Would NOT recommend.

Pros: Location

Cons: Food inedible, Expensive , One vegan option.

Love it here

Great view and ambience. There are large windows showing the jungle out back and a wood burning fireplace inside (the fireplace has a cute international friendship story/theme). There is one vegan option for a dinner entree, and it was tasty (crispy tofu as mentioned by others). Mixed drinks are worth a try as well.

The staff was super friendly and accommodating for vegans.

Pros: Great view and ambience, Friendly staff

Cons: A bit pricey, but not unexpectedly so

Loved this place!

We stayed overnight in the lodge here and had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant: both the accommodation and the food (and all the staff) were absolutely amazing. They may only have one vegan option on each menu, but omg they are fantastic! The rooms are very charming and cozy, and they have a hot tub round the back for guests.

Great option in a tiny town

There's not much in the way of dinner choices for vegans in Volcano, but this is a perfectly nice option in a cozy spot. We both ordered the crispy tofu dish and were pleasantly surprised. After a long day in the rain and wind, it hit the spot! The vegan choices are limited to one dish at lunch and another at dinner, but again, given the extremely limited choices in Volcano, this was plenty for us.

Pros: One of very few vegan choices in the area, Knowledgeable and friendly staff, Cozy
