came back 4 times!! - Edit
We stayed in Hoi An for a week and are here 4 times. ALL VEGAN! Food takes a little while because it's made fresh. We enjoyed several of the fruit smoothies (they don't use any added sugar). Got the crispy lemongrass tofu a few times as it was so yummy. I also got the vege Indian curry each time for my 1.5 year old who loved it with the roti. We also tried the tofu roll, hot dog, fried rice, turmeric rice and a noodle dish. Everything was amazing !!!! Lovely ladies work there too. Very friendly

Overhyped. Good clean food but nothing to get excited about. - Edit
Should've have gotten so excited about the food but couldn't help but read all the amazing reviews about all the dishes.
Read moreThe food turned out to be good. But just a standard good. It was nice but definitely not as mind blowing as everyone had gone on about.
Mango smoothie was also nice. They blended a mango and added nothing else so it was a mango puree.
Nice meal, nothing more.

The best smoothie I've had in Vietnam! *Update* - Edit
* Update to my previous review as this info needs to be shared!*
Read moreAfter being away from Vietnam for a few months I returned to Karma Waters last night for a refreshing healthy drink and a snack. The ginger, orange and cucumber juice was just what I needed to help heal the cold virus I've got at the moment. It's so refreshing to have a juice without heaps of sugar added and much healthier too. However, the snack was what I'm on here to rave about! I chose the crunchy tofu with lemongrass. It came out resembling fried chicken (breadcrumb coated shredded tofu on a lemongrass stick) and it's taste and texture was close to it too - Holy Cow it was good! I didn't know it was possible to make tofu so chicken-like! Definitely a good option for those craving compassionate junk food :) The description and picture on the menu don't do it justice - it's so much more than just crunchy tofu! If you'e craving a vegan version of KFC, this is the place to get it!
Previous Review:
I finally got round to visiting the Hoi An branch of Karma Waters the other day and was glad that I did. As has already been mentioned by many other reviewers, this place isn't as cheap as your average Chay place, but it is a step up in terms of food quality, hygiene, atmosphere and service.
I ordered a Pineapple smoothie (35,000) and a Curry Roti (50,000) and was impressed with both. In fact, the smoothie was the best I've had in Vietnam! Usually when I ask for a smoothie with no milk/yoghurt/dairy it ends up being watery and too sugary. However Karma Water's 100% vegan version had a lovely creamy consistency (which wasn't due to coconut milk - I did ask!) and naturally sweet. The roti was on the small side, but perfectly adequate for a light lunch and was packed with flavour.
Eating here is dining for a cause too - in addition to actively promoting veganism and offering eco-friendly tours, they also use profits to help the needy.

Fully vegan menu - Edit
We came here 3 times during our stay in Hoi An and enjoyed it every time. The owner is very sparing with words, but she makes some delicious food (the preparation takes a little while as the food is very fresh). The pho was great and flavorful, and their juices are yummy and not diluted with ice cubes nor mixed with sugar. Their fresh ginger tea is amazing for when you have a cold, it's very strong! We also had the turmeric rice which was delicious (and pretty much the same dish as the vegetarian "chicken" rice at another place) and the banana pancakes which were gooey and sweet and came with a lovely sauce that I'm guessing was made of maple syrup and ginger or something like that. The meals are a little more on the pricey side compared to some other local places, but I'm happy to support a fully vegan place anytime! Especially since they also offer cheap plastic bottle refills!!

We love Karma Waters. It has become our local. Love the spicy Vietnamese salad especially. Delicious food.
Read moreThey do a bit of the 'faux' meat, & some dishes could do with more greens, but when you find the dishes & combinations that work for you it is great. Lovely staff. It was such a pleasure to find this restaurant. Highly recommend it. Best Vietnamese food we've had. So glad it is here.

AMAZING - Edit
Great food! I went here 2 times with my partner and would have gone more if it was cheaper. The food was amazing! While there we tried the veggie dog and burger as well as the spring rolls and vegetable noodles. The portions were a good size especially the spring rolls! The noodles were by far the best meal. We had them twice they were so good!

nice ethical vegan place, but no mock meat please - Edit
been here a couple of times. Food was way too salty to our taste (we gotta add more water to the seaweed soup). The menu is large with a lot of dishes, although many of them have mock meat in it, which isn't healthy. Still, this is a good place, affordable and the people are conscious about what they put onto the plate.

Went for the Vietnamese carrot salad with peanut dressing and really liked it. Portion was huge. The Dahl was only ok, compared to the one you get at Indian restaurants. I'd recommend to go for Vietnamese food. The atmosphere was nice. Not the cheapest option, but still reasonable.

This is a small restaurant quite central in Hoi An. The food is tasty and the juices and smoothies are really good. The staff is mixed, one girl is very friendly and was smiling all the time, the other wasn't very happy at all every time we came there.
Read moreThey also do take-away, so if you're going to the beach or traveling onwards, I would highly recommend to order a few bahn mi with shredded tofu to take away, because they're just the best thing, soo good!

Tasty - Edit
On the outskirts of Hoi An, but easily reachable by bike (as rented for free by many hotels). The curried bean curd with red rice was delicious. The stir-fried noodles with vegetables was simple, but also tasty. The beetroot soup was just ok. The fruit smoothies were lovely. It was run by friendly staff and was a socially responsible place where you could donate money to support the restaurant’s initiative of providing very cheap vegan food to local people in need.

A little more expensive than other vegan places.. but the food is so great and healthy! My favorite was the raw beet soup- which was sooo good! They have coffee with coconut milk , the smoothies are great and all the food is perfect. Relaxing environment away from the tourist craze. Didn't take the cooking class, but saw a couple doing it and they said it was amazing.

best vegan spot in Hoi An - Edit
This is my favorite vegan restaurant in Hoi An! They have a variety of vegan dishes, including several salads (most places just have 1 or none), fresh juices, "fake meat" dishes, western and traditional Vietnamese cuisine. My favorite is the Mushrooms & Tofu with rice. They season the tofu which makes it even more delicious!
