More About Me
Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:
There's too much suffering and violence in this world, I don't want to contribute to that.
I joined HappyCow Members Community because:
It's an invaluable resource for travelling vegetarians such as myself and has changed my life! I just found out about it when I was travelling a couple of months ago; I was at the end of 6 months of travelling. Before discovering this site I'd spend hours reading blogs to research where veggie restaurants were.
Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:
Thailand and Vietnam remain two of my favourite countries; firstly for the stunning landscapes, secondly for their budget-friendliness and thirdly for the amazing selection of cheap and yummy vegetarian food on offer.
Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:
Tofu (when it's cooked to crunchy perfection); jackfruit (when marinated in sauce and slow-cooked to mimic pulled-pork); mock-meat; chickpeas, kidney beans and lentils (especially in curry and chilli con carne); coconut milk (in savoury and sweet dishes).
Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:
