An Acadia Staple - Edit
I was pleasantly surprised to see several vegan options on the menu. Sadly, they were out of the chickpea salad, but there was a pretty good stir fry. Popovers aren't vegan which is their signature item. The take out cafe has vegan options too, but they were out of one of them when we went...so I had an okay hummus plate. I tend to be pleasantly surprised when a restaurant has more than one lame vegan option.

Fair - Edit
Not many choices for vegan. I hit the veggie stew which was basically vegetable soup. It was just ok. It did come with a popover which is not vegan. Has eggs and milk in it.

Gorgeous Ambiance - Edit
Hiked around the pond and put our name in at 10:40. Waited a little over an hour in the cold which made the hot tea and soup feel so much more worth it. Vegetable soup was good but definitely over-priced at around $13 for a bowl. Beautiful view if you sit outside!

Not worth the wait or price - Edit
While I was grateful for the vegan options, beautiful view and outdoor dog-friendly seating, the prices were sky high for a tiny amount of soup with very little veggies. We ate here for the view after hiking around Jordan Pond. We put our name in as soon as they opened (they don’t take reservations). There was over an hour wait but once seated, service was pretty quick. Unfortunately, lots and lots of bees and hornets were all over the tables and flying all around us while we were trying to eat. At least 5 bees on our table alone at any given time. They had signs up “We have bees” in the check in line but this was an understatement at best. If you have even a slight bee phobia, do NOT eat here in July. I would not recommend this restaurant. If you want to eat and enjoy the view, bring your own food and a blanket to eat near the pond. If you are hungry after hiking in Acadia and didn’t bring food, there are some pretty fantastic vegan options in Bar Harbor that you can drive to and be served your food in far less time than it takes to be seated here.

Decent food, nothing spectacular - Edit
Since it’s the only food place in Acadia I am just appreciative that they have anything for vegans. They have a veggie stew and veggie wrap. Both are nothing phenomenal, but at least they have 2 options that don’t require modifications and are somewhat tasty. They’re lighter foods so it’s not something super filling, but better than nothing. Beautiful view!
